Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
UAV Horizon 1.0.0
- Map memory usage has been limited: old textures are unloaded while reconnaissance data is saved to disk. Duplicate writes are merged, and the save queue is limited.
- The map now scans nearby chunks first, updates faster, and avoids creating unnecessary neighboring textures. Outdated routes are cleared from the client cache.
- Added client settings through the Mods menu: engine and custom explosion volume, grid, map update speed, and map cache size.
- Base fuel capacity: Gerbera — about 20 minutes, both Geran-2 variants — 30 minutes, Geran-4 — about 30 minutes at cruising speed. Speed and climbing affect fuel consumption.
- Health of all UAVs has been reduced by 5%; the remaining health and fuel percentages are preserved when loading.
- Window-breaking sounds are now limited to the area around the affected windows and no longer create hundreds of sounds at once.
Fuel and damage settings remain server-side. Update the JAR on both the server and all clients.
Explosions, Diving, and Geran-4 Sound
- Increased the scale of Explosion Overhaul effects for Geran-2 and Geran-4 independently of block destruction.
- Fixed explosion effects and sounds disappearing when a deep crater is created. Added a custom fallback effect in case the Explosion Overhaul handler does not generate a visual effect package.
- Slightly increased acceleration during dives based on current speed; when the engine is off, the speed limit of the specific aircraft is taken into account.
- Geran-4 now has a separate FAR audio layer with smooth blending. Doppler pitch changes have been softened, and the random whistle during dives has been removed.
Terminal and Compatibility
- Expanded client settings: separate NEAR/FAR volume, Doppler strength, and aircraft numbers and coordinates on the map. Settings access through the terminal has been removed; settings are now available through Mods → Config.
- Long-range map view now uses a lightweight atlas of previously saved terrain. Detailed reconnaissance data is saved to disk regardless of distance and restored when the map moves closer.
- The launch button and interval controls have been combined into a compact row above the bottom bar. The aircraft number is displayed above UAV icons, with X/Y/Z coordinates below.
- Geran-4: cruising speed is 40 blocks/s, FAR audio is louder, and the transition to FAR is completed at Y=120.
- Approach calculations now account for the aircraft's actual maneuverability. The waypoint acceptance radius takes speed into account so that fast aircraft do not circle around waypoints.
- Geran Explosion Overhaul effects have been increased to a medium scale; when the EO handler is selected, UAV Horizon's additional window-breaking effects and sounds are disabled.
Geran-4 Sound and Trail, Detonation While Parked
- Geran-4 NEAR audio during flight is 18% quieter; FAR audio has been increased by approximately 27%, is less attenuated at altitude, and smoothly fades out at a maximum range of 720 blocks.
- Unlaunched UAVs of all variants now detonate when taking explosive or projectile damage. Nearby aircraft can chain-detonate; weak normal hits do not cause an immediate explosion.
- An expanding white trail from Geran-4's engine group appears at speeds above approximately 40 blocks/s during normal flight. The trail is absent while diving or when the engine is shut down or lost.
New Aircraft and SBW Support
- Added Geran-2 Seeker and FP-1 based on the fuel-injected Geran-2 configuration, and Geran-4 Seeker based on the Geran-4 configuration. All have their own models, icons, and items.
- Fixed UAV chain detonation on the catapult: destroying the catapult no longer removes the aircraft without an explosion.
- Explosions now damage Superb Warfare vehicles through its native damage and armor system. Flying UAVs are registered with SBW radars and unregistered when removed.
- Geran-2 NEAR audio during flight is approximately 24% quieter, and the smooth horizontal audio tail has been reduced from 120 to 105 blocks. Catapult audio remains unchanged.
- Geran-4 FAR audio fades between 360 and 720 blocks and no longer overlaps Geran-2's range. The white trail is now longer and more visible, with smoother expansion and fading.
- Aircraft labels and coordinates on the map maintain a constant on-screen size regardless of map zoom.
Seeker Cameras — Basic Implementation
- Added terminal access to the cameras of Geran-2 Seeker and Geran-4 Seeker. Camera position is taken from the model's
camera_locatorand can rotate independently of the aircraft's nose. - Added a reticle, UAV direction indicator, heading/pitch scales, and a green target-selection box. Clicking selects a small area; dragging creates a rectangular selection.
- LMB assigns a standard diving approach; RMB assigns an approach to the selected point followed by an orbit. Lock-on takes 0.5–2 seconds; the camera keeps the center of the selected area fixed.
- Camera controls: middle mouse button or WASD/arrow keys. The mouse wheel controls zoom, Space releases camera control, and Esc returns to the terminal.
- The server validates ownership, terminal binding, surface visibility, and range. Connecting to the camera does not move the player's body. Camera resources are released when exiting, losing access, or timing out.
- Surface lock-on now also supports tracking a single visible entity inside the selection box; obstacles interrupt tracking.
Seeker Camera Fixes
- Simplified the fullscreen interface and fixed mirrored target selection; the selection box is always green and the cursor no longer changes.
- Lock-on takes 0.5–2 seconds. The fixed lock-on distance limit within the loaded view has been removed.
- Q/E control altitude, while Shift/Ctrl control speed. Added smooth camera aiming and a limit on rearward camera movement.
- Fixed the issue that caused terrain beneath the player to disappear after disconnecting from the camera; camera and aircraft interpolation have been synchronized.
- Added an optional Camera Simulation setting to the client configuration.
Camera and Orbit Improvements
- The HUD has been adjusted to better match the reference: left-side scale, angle values, filled nose indicator, and a reticle without a center dot. The upper heading scale has been removed.
- WASD camera rotation is now frame-time based, faster, and uses smooth acceleration/deceleration.
- RMB now assigns an orbit with its exact center at the selected point, without first flying through the point or offsetting the orbit center. Orbit direction is selected based on the current heading, and the radius accounts for speed.
- Optional video-feed simulation has been strengthened: reduced sharpness/contrast, brief freezes, and localized compression artifacts.
FP-1, Target Tracking, and Sound
- FP-1 receives a numeric identifier (for example, FP-1 23043), separate sounds from the
fp1folder, and five debris parts from its own model. Custom model debris has also been added to both Seeker variants. - Sway and wind compensation have been increased, especially for FP-1. Loitering around the last waypoint now uses an exact center; orbit radii have been slightly increased, with a larger increase for Geran-4.
- Seekers can track one visible entity within the selected area, including players, mobs, and supported vehicles. As the target moves, the attack point is updated; tracking stops if the target moves behind a wall.
- The altitude set using the control keys is preserved when assigning a target. The default selection box has been reduced, labels and scale markings have been spaced out, reticle stability has been improved, and video-feed banding has been reduced.
- Remote view distance has been expanded to 17×17 chunks; population of the camera's primary storage for renderers has been fixed. The UAV's own engine audio no longer receives false delay and Doppler effects caused by movement of the camera viewpoint.
- Increased pitch rise for the fuel-injected Geran-2 and FP-1 during dive acceleration. Catapult audio can be heard slightly farther away; Geran-4 FAR audio now smoothly fades out at 670 blocks. Long-range explosion audio for Geran aircraft and FP-1 has been increased by 10%.
- Geran-4's trail now begins at 42 blocks/s. Individual glass-breaking sounds are limited to 24 blocks from the listener.
The network protocol has been updated: this JAR is required on both the server and clients.
FP-1 Cameras and Thermal Imaging
- Camera range now follows the Minecraft render-distance setting (2–32 chunks), including changes made to the setting while viewing through the camera. Separate simulation tickets allow mobs and vehicles near the camera to continue updating.
- Added thermal imaging for Seekers and FP-1: monochrome processing with highlighting of visible entities. Toggle with N; the key can be rebound in Minecraft controls.
- The FP-1 camera can be accessed through the terminal. A/D turn the aircraft, W lowers the nose, S raises it, and Shift/Ctrl decrease/increase throttle. Closing the camera returns the aircraft to loitering.
- Minimal FP-1 interface: heart-shaped reticle, two FIRE/POINT lines, and a dashed horizon that accounts for pitch and roll.
- Numbers on the camera's left-side scale are separated from the scale lines. While viewing through the camera, sounds are heard around the player's body rather than around the UAV.
This update requires the same JAR on both the client and server (protocol 29).
Camera Controls and Interface
FP-1 is controlled through angles with smooth angular acceleration and movement inertia; near-vertical climbs and descents are possible.
Seeker upward view is limited, and lock-on delay is 0.8–2 seconds. The dark background behind the scale has been removed.
The thin symmetrical FP-1 reticle has been redrawn. Digital video-feed artifacts have been intensified and can be disabled in the client settings.
Increased Geran and FP-1 damage against Superb Warfare vehicles while preserving armor, distance, and cover calculations.
The previous collision system has been retained; experimental model-geometry collision has been reverted.
The FP-1 camera now follows aircraft roll; Seeker cameras are partially roll-stabilized. Lock-on accounts for image tilt, and the default selection box has been reduced to 14×12. The heart-shaped reticle is now more elongated and pointed.
The camera now uses a unified position stream for both close and distant flight: remote entity teleport packets no longer overwrite its position. The FP-1 reticle has been adjusted to match the compact proportions of the reference.
Cameras, Guidance, and Effects
- The carbureted Geran-2's pitch drop and uneven recovery have been reworked to follow the envelope of the audio reference; the explosion at the end of the recording has been excluded.
- Heavy explosion lighting now covers more directions and fades more smoothly. Light sources are temporary, do not replace blocks, and respect walls.
- FP-1: turning now accounts for speed, the horizon no longer crosses the FIRE/POINT indicators, and the heart reticle is aligned to the pixel grid without altering its shape.
- Camera-controlled loitering without a separately assigned altitude now preserves the current altitude; vertical adjustment has been softened.
- A Seeker can begin an attack within a range of distances and with a heading deviation of up to 40°, continuing to turn during the attack. Losing the engine during an attack still allows contact detonation.
- Collisions now account for pitch and roll changes between ticks; collision detection still uses the existing probe-based system rather than model-based OBB collision.
- Removed the large speed-dependent forward waypoint acceptance radius; handling remains for nearby side waypoints that cannot be reached within the turning radius.
- When neighboring chunks arrive, the camera now marks their sections for rendering again, including terrain beneath a high-flying aircraft.
- Added an optional thermal-imaging adapter for Universal Mod Core / Immersive Railroading rendering.
