5.5.0 – New Content, Reworks and Cleanup
Removals:
- Augments wiped entirely (assets, creative menu, curio slot, celestial items).
- Augments will return in a separate mod with better mechanics. Join Discord for updates.
- Nightwarden’s Mob Battle mode removed.
- Dev note: This mode was made for mob battles ONLY, as per its name. But it was getting abused too much by players to make the boss 10x easy to fight which was not the intention. I make my bosses for players to fight, so I won't worry about mob battles. Now Nightwarden will follow the same rules made for players, in mob battles.
- Mowzie’s Mobs compatibility removed from T.O Magic ’n Extras.
- A dedicated addon mod now exists for Mowzie’s Mobs. Search GTBC's Geomancy Plus or take a look at my curseforge profile.
Additions:
- New spell: Serpentide.
- New spell: The Howling Tempest.
- New boss message overlay system, callable via
TravelopticsMessages.sendBossMessage.- Nightwarden no longer shows action bar messages; uses overlay system instead.
- New custom keybind system.
- T.O armors now follow this implementation (bind your favourite keys).
- New customizable particle: ColorfulBubbleParticleOptions.
- New particle: Reverse Blastwave (not in use).
- New entity: StackEntity – displays stacks/counts on a target (for future use).
Reworks:
Trident of the Eternal Maelstrom:
- Exclusive Spell: Tidal Slash removed (completely purged from registries)
- New Exclusive Spell: Skypiercer
- Calls down a phantom trident from the sky, dealing AoE impact damage. The trident lingers, pulsing for 50% of the impact damage over time, inflicting Tidal Torment: makes thrown tridents explode in AoE and slow targets
- Thrown trident no longer clears its own Tidal Torment
- Evo 2 updated – Each entity hit by Skypiercer grants +10% mana regen for 2.5s, stacking up to 8 times.
- Unified all evo renderers into one
- Emissive glow now shows in first-person when using shaders
- Backend Evo handling updated
Shear of the Stars (Nightwarden Spell & Player Spell):
- Tick frequency 6 → 2 (3× faster)
- Per-hit damage reduced by ⅓ (total DPS unchanged).
- Now ignores I-frames
- Converted from projectile to custom entity system:
- Immune to projectile deflection
- Fixes bug where dragons could alter path mid-flight.
- Updated spell lang entry
Stellothorn & Trident of the Maelstrom Pickup Logic:
- Now remembers the hotbar slot (1–9) it was thrown from
- On pickup:
- Returns to original slot if available
- If occupied, moves item to another slot
- If inventory is full, drops the blocking item
- Offhand throws not supported
Balance Changes:
- Tsunami Spell
- Damage scaling 3.5 → 5.0
- Base wet amp 1 → 2.
- Burning Judgment
- Now uses extended entity instead of default Flame Strikes
- Compatible with ISS damage sources (Fire Shred, Nightwarden whitelist, etc.)
- No longer pierces armor/enchantments
- Stellothorn:
- Eldritch spell power 15% → 5%
- Ender spell power 5% → 15%
- (“oopsie”)
Other changes:
- Optimized particle-heavy stuff for better performance
- Refined some lang entries & Nightwarden messages (colors, order, English corrections)
- Hydrocharge Bracelet retextured to match Scylla theme
- Fixed a bug where Infernal Devastator had Aqua, Nature spell bonuses
- Fixed Void Tome summons being craftable (oversight)
- Fixed rare bug: Mechanized Exoskeleton fuel regen could stop if last used missiles/laser
