Description

Compendium

The Index:

At its base the Index is a simple material library, it holds relevant info about any added material and how it can be used.

Where it becomes powerful is how easy it is to add to. Currently a single json file and some graphics are all you need to have a brand new material, no modding needed, or you can add an existing material from another mod in your modpack and use the graphics it provides! Mod makers can even include index files in their own mods and Compendium will pick them up, no player input required.

Base Mod Materials included:

  • Wood
    • Oak
    • Spruce
    • Birch
    • Jungle

Workstations:

Compendium includes a number of workstations that allow you to craft using tools and items step by step, including animations, and it's all data driven.

Workbench:

An all purpose table that starts with a 3x3 grid, but can be expanded up to 5x5. In the future it will get even more expansions such as FE included in recipes.

Hammering Station:

A flat stone table for crushing stuff! Smash stone into cobble, gravel into sand, etc etc.

Sawbuck:

A rack for holding and processing wood. The Sawbuck is used to chop logs into smaller logs and sawing those into planks.

Cosmetic Toolbox

A toolbox full of art supplies and tools to change the shape and texture of any stylable block.

Style and Material

Compendium currently includes 8 entire multi-matieral stylable blocks! Now that doesn't sound like a lot, but that's where The Index and the Cosmetic Toolbox comes in!

Each of these blocks is comprised of parts, each part is tied to a type from The Index which lets you make that part from any material that's included with that type.

Each of these parts can also be styled, changing its shape/texture to something entirely different! Combining different materials and styles allow you to deeply customize these blocks and make them your own!

Tools:

Compendium includes multiple new tools, and many of the change their use depending on what hand you use them in!

Hammer

Mines in a 3x3 when used as a pickaxe. In your off-hand if you target a 3x3 cube of stone it'll carve out a monolith stone (Currently only used as a storage block)

Saw

In the main hand it works as an axe, stripping logs of their bark. In the off-hand it can cut down entire trees in one swoop!

Prybar

Can be used to pry up any blocks in the Pryable block tag.

Zweihander

A big sword! Does not work very well if you have something in your offhand. Right clicking the zweihander will cause you to do a great swing, causing all enemies around you to take a little damage but also get pushed back, giving you space to breath but leaving you weakened for a moment.
