Description
🗝️ Thieves!
Thieves! adds a new kind of hostile NPC to Minecraft: thieves who don’t want your life — they want your stuff, and the more you have, the more they take!
At night, under the right conditions, a thief may attempt a raid on your base. This can happen even if you are far away exploring — as long as you are logged into the world or server, your belongings are never entirely safe.
How It Works
- Thieves track player bases over time
- On certain nights, a theft attempt may occur
- There is a subtle in-game hint when a raid night is coming
- Thieves can open doors and navigate inside structures
- They search for chests, steal random items, and load them into a loot bag
- Loot bags are placed nearby while they work
- Once satisfied, the thief will escape the area
After escaping, the thief will attempt to settle down a few hundred blocks away with everything they stole — and possibly more…
Hideouts (Planned)
In future versions, thieves will create or occupy hideouts where:
- Stolen items are stored
- Players can track down and reclaim their loot
- Thieves may live, defend, or expand their territory
⚠️ Current State
This is a very early version of the mod, released for a ModJam deadline.
Currently Implemented:
- Base tracking system
- Thief spawning & raid logic
- Chest looting behavior
- Loot bags
- Thieves escaping with stolen goods
Not Yet Implemented, planned:
- Thief hideouts
- Advanced thief AI & behaviors
- Long-term consequences or progression
- More thief variants including master thieves
- A way to put thieves into into prison and recruit them as guardians
📦Notes
- Thieves only act while the player is logged in
