Alpha Below 1.0.1

Patch release for Minecraft 1.20.1 after 1.0.0. The mod now ships on Fabric and Forge (Architectury is now a required dependency) so both loaders share the same Alpha dimension, structures, optional horror systems, and ruby content—without relying on Sinytra Connector for Forge.

This update also introduces environmental horror, makes Lost Voyager shrines respond more consistently, brings Forge in line with Fabric for worldgen and client behavior, and adds new Alpha dimension config options.

Highlights

  • Multi-loader: Fabric and Forge both now officially supported, and will release together.
  • JEI integration for ruby crafting and smelting recipes on both loaders.
  • Creative inventory tabs for ruby items, tools, armor, and related building blocks (grouped like vanilla categories).
  • New config options (Cloth Config (required dependency) / Mod Men (optional, necessary for in-game configuration) on Fabric; Cloth Config (required dependency) on Forge):
    • Bedrock ceiling — optional off so the Alpha dimension’s top bedrock layer (and rare mysterious stone there) is not placed in newly generated chunks only. This "flattens" the bedrock ceiling if playing with Immersive Portals installed.
    • Day/night cycle — optional normal time in the Alpha dimension instead of perpetual midnight; on dedicated servers, match this setting on server and clients for consistent visuals.
  • Added Environmental horror (opt-in only):
    • False Presence moments involving doors, chests, furnaces, torches, and blocked paths.
    • Events that trigger only during chunk revisits.
    • Almost Normal House structure with three variants: Normal (similar to the dev house), Disturbed (corrupted, with several anomalies), Watcher (lone house with a solid glass wall).
  • Added Minecraft Tutorial World Sign — rare spawn, obvious anomaly.
  • Lost Voyager shrines respond more consistently to offerings, and their message signs appear more reliably.

Fixes

  • Fixed shrine sign responses sometimes failing to appear after offerings.
  • Fixed the shrine build sound cue playing for everyone nearby (now only plays for the player building it).
  • Fixed 2Char & Lost Voyager entity rotatioons.
  • Fixed cross-mod texture compatibility: other mods' (The Aether, Twilight Forest, etc.) 2D sprites (flowers, saplings, decorations) no longer render as white rectangles or broken textures when Alpha Below is installed. The alpha model wrapper was incorrectly wrapping every block model in the game instead of only the ~50 blocks that take place in the Alpha texture system.

Notes

  • Immersive Portals compatibility is reflection-based on both loaders (defensive against API changes).

Known Issues

  • Same Sodium/Embeddium-related caveats as 1.0.0 (skybox fog bleed, chest latch glitch); shaders or fog settings may help.
