The Yokai Realm is a work-in-progress mod focused on adding creatures from Japanese folklore, known as Yokai, to the game.
Me and my friend (who previously worked on Yokai Unleashed and Japanese Accamoadtions mods) are currently working on this project for making a big mod about Japanese folklore, which will add lots of Yokai monsters into the game, Japanese culture-related items, biomes, weapons, structures and much more! The point is basically to make the game more interesting and to make minecraft world feel more alive, by adding new mobs. The best thing about Yokai is their fascinating diversity - some of them are very dangerous and will attack you at the first sight, while others may be cute and friendly, or even helpful. All of the mobs are strictly based on the folklore, so none of them are completely made up! Another goal of this mod is to make the game more immersive and authentic in style of Fantasy Edo period Japan. At the end it's just for players to enjoy!
Currently the mod is only in the very early stage of developing so it has only one mob (which is kappa that you can see on the poster), and a few more models of yokai. There is no a clear team for this project, so sometimes it's very hard to work on something like this just on my own.
So if you have any experience in modding/ texturing/ model making or just want to share/ discuss some ideas, feel free to reach out to me! Any help would be very appriciated :)
