Slenderstalgia (The Slenderman by Colossali)

 I am not trying to get credit. I just simpily want to archive this mod before all the files are gone. Don't expect new things to be added, this is just a reupload of versions i found working. I was downloading the files from malicious websites risking my computer for this one mod.

Backstory:

Back in 2013 a moder that goes by the name Colossail made a mod about the Slenderman that got very popular among the Minecraft community and some from the Slender community. It was and still is one of the best Slenderman mods ever created for Minecraft. It was so popular in fact that some popular Minecraft youtubers made videos about it such as SkyDoesMinecraft, DanTDM, PopularMMO's and the list goes on. However at the end of 2013. The mod was abandoned with the recent update dates back to Aug, 2013.

How to report found media or a less broken version:

If you have a working version of the mod that does not appear on the mod page. Feel free to reach me out and i will have a look at it. Same goes with less broken versions. If you have a less broken version of one of the file version example: 1.6.4 please feel free to sharr it with me and i will have a look at it and confirm that it is indeed a less broken version of already existing version on thr mod page

QNA:
Reason for reupload: Since it has been a bit more then 10 years since it was abandoned and most of the files have became broken and could only be found on scetchy websites. I decided to reuploaded it but this time as a .JAR file instead of a .ZIP file for better installation and without major issues. I wanted to reupload it because some people might really miss this mod äso i decided why not give the old school players what they want?

Where did i get this working version of the mod?

From a scetchy website that probably contained virus in it. So i am really risking a lot to get this file working and i hope it pays of.

WIll you continue updating the mod?

No, firstly because this is a reupload only and I wont be able to update this further nor can i update it to the most recent versions of Minecraft techical reasons ( I am not the original creator of the mod) so sadly you have to relie on 1.6.4 Minecraft but... Hey at least the file is working properly with minor bugs here and there but i can't do anything about them.

Setup/Installation for 1.6.2, 1.6.4, 1.7.10 and 1.16.5:

1. open up the Minecraft Launcher
2. make sure you have the selected Minecraft version installed otherwise you can install it in the "installations" tab
3. click on "New Installation"
4. Then you can have the option of calling it by a selected name like your perfered Minecraft version. Example: "Minecraft 1.7.10"
5. then click on the "Version" section and find the version you are looking for like for an example: "1.6.4"

 

Now there are two ways of installing Minecraft one is with all the versions in the same folder or you can choose to install them in seperate folders to aviod some future crashes if you are planning on installing more mods from different versions

 

Installing versions seperately:

1. "Browse" in the "game directory" section.
2. type in  "C:\Users(Username)\AppData\Roaming" in the File Explorer search bar and press "Enter"
3. create a folder called .minecraft "(your version)" and press "enter"
4. click on it ones to select it
5. click on "upload"

Congrats you have installed your Minecraft version in a seperate folder

follow the inseperately steps as well

 

Installing versions inseperately:

(This is a non-interupted continuation of the first steps that may lead to some confusion)

6. Select it and on the bottom right there is a button lighten up in green that says "Create" press it

 7. open it.

8. Let it download all the required content to storage.

9. Ones it has launched, downloaded the content and when the minecraft menu pops up, close it.

10. Then download the selected Minecraft forge version from files.minecraftforge.net

11. double click to open it ones it has download.

12. There should be a menu pop up and make sure to select "client" and click on "OK"

13. Wait till the installation is finished then click on "OK" ones again

14. restart the Minecraft Launcher

15. click on "installations" and make sure its there.

 

If you choosed to install Minecraft versions seperately follow the following steps otherwise skip over to step 24

16. click on the two dots next to the Forge version that you've installed.

17. Then click on "Edit"

19. "Game directory" and click on "Browse"

20. again go to C:\Users(Username)\AppData\Roaming

21. click on .Minecraft ("your version")

22. then click on "upload"

23. after that click on "save"

Thats all the steps for seperate installation only

24. go back to the "play" tab in the Minecraft launcher

25. In the "play" tab make sure you select the right version in the version selection next to the "play" button

26. click on "play" so it installs the required content

27. after you see it launch up and the Minecraft menu pop up close it.

28. After that go back to the Slenderstalgia mod page and download the version of the mod that matches the one that you have installed from the "files" tab

25. once it is download open up the directory where you choose the mod to be installed at

26. keep the window open and open a new window and go to C:\Users(Username)\AppData\Roaming.minecraft or for those who choosed to install it seperately: C:\Users(Username)\AppData\Roaming.minecraft ("your version")

27. Inside the folder you will find a folder named "mods" open it

28. open up the window of the directory that has the mod in it.

29. find the mod

30. drag the mod into the mod folder at C:\Users(Username)\AppData\Roaming.minecraft\mods or C:\Users(Username)\AppData\Roaming.minecraft ("your version" )\mods.

25. go back to the Minecraft launcher and click on "play"

Congrats you have installed the Forge and the mod. You are now free to play! :)

LegacyJavaFixer for 1.7.2

1. go ahead and download: LegacyJavaFixer for  1.7.2

2. open up the .zip file

3. inside the .zip will be a folder with the name "mods" double click on it.
4. Inside the folder you will see a file named legacyjavafixer-1.0.jar return to it later.
5. open up a new file explorer window
6. On top you will see a search bar. Remove the text within it and search up "C:\Users(Username)\AppData\Roaming.minecraft\mods" or "C:\Users(Username)\AppData\Roaming.minecraft 1.7.2\mods". if you have installed each Minecraft version in seperate folders.
7. return to the .zip and drag "legacyjavafixer.jar" into the "mods" folder

If you are experiencing crashing issues with the mod or the versions, this may help:

1. Start the Minecraft launcher

2. Go to "Installations" tab that is next to the "Play" tab

3. Find the version you want to play with (Forge 1.6.2/1.6.4/1.7.10)

4. hover over the version and click on the 3 dots

5. click on edit

6. click on "Browse" next to the game directory tab

7. Create a new folder name it .MInecraft (version number)

8. Select the folder

9. Click on "Ok"

10. Then click on the green "Save" button on the bottom-right corner next to the "cancel" button

11. Go back to the "Play" tab by clicking on the play tab

12. Make sure you have selected the right version in the "Perfered version to play" tab

13. Launch Minecraft and it should work fine if not then ask the Minecraft modding community for help.

(optional steps: make a backup) If you have mods already in the folder for a different version of Minecraft, make sure to back it up. To make it easier for noobs here are some steps how to backup MC mod files:

1. Make a folder inside the mods folder
2. Call it whatever you want but i recommend similar to this 1.19.2 (Forge)
3. put the mods with that version inside the folder as a backup.

Last things:

I am working on remastering the classic mod and make it stand out with the other Minecraft horror mods such as the Cave Dweller. I am willing to offer you a place in the development of the mod since that mod is my first actual somewhat original mod  and i want it to look and feel as good as possible. I have released a very very very very very early version of the mod. Slenderman is basically a Enderman that can break blocks, walk slower, custom model and some custom sounds.
