Description
https://modrinth.com/mod/tfc-dynamite has a few pictures. I will have a small tutorial video soon.
For all who seek faster mining and more accidental deaths. Enjoy!
The tech tree is fairly simple. Part one: sulfur powder + water = sulfuric acid. Sulfuric acid + saltpeter(or other nitrogen) = nitric acid. Nitric acid +sulfuric acid = mixed acid fat or olive oil + lye = glycerol
. Part two: Glycerol + mixed acid gives you unstable nitroglycerin. Seal it immediately, and after a day in-game, you get good ole nitroglycerin.
Part three nitroglycerin + either dirt, clay powder, or kaolinite powder = the 3 variants of dynamite: unstable, stable, and reinforced
These are then placed and detonated with either a fire starter or the fuse cord
The goal of this mod was to be able to excavate and terraform large areas without breaking the realistic feel of TFC. Here are the explosive stats. Be warned, everything explodes.
-Unstable nitroglycerin is the most volatile. After mixing its ingredients in the instant barrel recipe, you should seal it, or it will explode. And once sealed, don't touch it; it will explode. -Both nitroglycerin types and every compound and stick variation will explode if the player or item container catches fire or is within a blast radius. -Nitroglycerin and the unstable compound and unstable dynamite stick will also explode if the player runs for too long while holding them or takes damage, or rides another entity. So yeah, it is dangerous.
But for all that danger, here is your reward:
- Unstable dynamite detonates in a rough 3x3x3 area centered beneath the embedded block. If placed but not embedded, it will detonate similarly to Minecraft TNT.
- Stable dynamite is where the fun begins. It detonates in a rough 3x3x3 area centered beneath the embedded block, but returns 100% of broken blocks.
- Reinforced dynamite does the same with a larger blast radius. -The copper blasting cap, when added to stable or reinforced dynamite, allows the player to enable a tunnel blast, which will destroy a 2x2 or 3x3 area away from the centered block.
Now, if you made it this far, you are probably thinking about that unholy cave in sound. And don't worry, because I thought of that too. If you take stable or reinforced dynamite and craft it with unrefined paper, you get quarry variants of both.
Quarry blasting is still an explosion, but it instead takes blocks to an instant mineable state with a pickaxe. The blocks will stay in this state long enough to clear out areas and put up supports, allowing for practical underground use without the risk of cave-ins!
I am still working on other features, such as dynamite bundles and polishing things in general. Stay tuned.
