TerraFirmaEarth is a back-port addon for TerraFirmaCraft on Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge. It brings the newer-version TFC content (terrain, climate, plants, fauna and more) back to 1.20, so modpacks and players locked to 1.20 by their dependencies can still enjoy the newer features without waiting for a 1.21 jump.
Aimed at modpacks that cannot upgrade to 1.21 yet still want the newer TFC content. This is a TFC addon, not a standalone mod — TerraFirmaCraft must be installed.
### Ported from newer TFC versions
Snow logic — Snow accumulation and melting now react to climate immediately. No more slowly building up while you walk around in winter, and no more slowly melting in summer; when you enter a chunk, the snow cover already matches the current season and biome.
Terrain (109 biomes) — A full set of newer-version biomes and biome transitions has been ported, 109 in total. This includes new ocean variants (reef, deep ocean, trench), new land biomes (mountain belts, badlands, plateaus, shield-volcano regions, etc.) and the smooth transitions between them.
Ocean depth — A rewritten continuous ocean-depth curve. Normal ocean → reef → deep ocean → trench transitions are now smooth instead of stepped, and the trench core gradually descends to truly deep water instead of hitting a fixed floor.
Climate and seasons (31 climate types) — 31 Köppen-style climate types have been ported, covering tropical / arid / temperate / continental / polar zones. The newer climate panel and calendar HUD are included, along with runtime weather and rainfall driven by the new climate model. Where you stand on the map now genuinely matters for what grows there.
Seasonal plants — Dynamic seasonal appearance for leaves, flowers, lotus, sunflower and more. Trees and plants visibly change with the seasons; leaf colour shifts in autumn, flowers open in their proper season, lotus blooms on water, sunflowers track summer. Mostly visual polish, but it makes the world feel like the climate is actually working.
Crops, farmland, weeds and flowers — Fully ported. New crop types, new farmland behaviour, new weeds and ground flowers from the newer TFC versions are all available on 1.20.
New fauna and spawning — New mobs such as bison and leopard seal have been added, and they spawn according to the newer-version climate rules (not the legacy 1.20 rules). Existing TFC mobs that were updated upstream — polar bear, dire wolf — also run on the newer climate logic, so they appear in climatically correct places.
Pest system — The newer pest system has been ported: multiple climate-driven small rodents (lemming / mongoose / jerboa, etc.) that show up where their climate fits.
Field guide — A dedicated "TerraFirmaEarth / 群峦地球" category has been added to the TFC field guide front page. It is fairly rough, mainly intended as a quick reference for looking up crop growth conditions in-game.
### Extras
Hydration from real rainfall — Crops, fruit trees and berry bushes now draw their hydration directly from current rainfall, and they can also read nearby water sources (rivers, lakes, ponds). Plant near water and your crops are happy; plant in a dry biome with no water and they struggle. Hydration is no longer just a static biome value.
High-version → 1.20 compatibility layer — A compatibility layer that lets the newer-version fauna, climate and plant data run cleanly on 1.20, including correctly handling items that were already registered on the 1.20 side. You should not see double-registration crashes from porting.
AFC compatibility (Another Forest Compat / 林海传说) — When AFC is installed, the forest layer (tree density, humus, undergrowth) in active-volcano and mountain-forest regions is reconciled, so the world doesn't end up bald or stripped of humus where AFC and TFE biomes overlap.
Map mod compatibility — Compatibility with map mods such as JourneyMap, including colour mapping for the ported terrain so the new biomes show up correctly on the minimap / fullscreen map.
FirmalifeEnhanced greenhouse & cellar reset — Compatibility with FirmalifeEnhanced 0.1.3 or later's greenhouse / cellar reset. Inside a controlled greenhouse, crops, fruit trees and berry bushes use annual-average temperature and hydration and ignore outside weather, so a properly built greenhouse really does shelter your plants from a bad season.
Datapack integration guide — A separate "Datapack Compatibility Guide" is provided on GitHub for modpack authors who want to add fauna spawning rules, extend fauna entries, or coordinate AFC compatibility for custom forest setups.

TerraFirmaEarth / 群峦地球 是面向 Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge 的 TerraFirmaCraft 附属模组。把高版本 TFC 的新地形、新气候、新植物、新生物等内容反向移植到 1.20,让因依赖锁定无法升级 1.21 的整合包和玩家也能直接体验到。
本 mod 主要面向因兼容性原因暂时无法升级到 1.21、但又想要新版 TFC 内容的整合包。它是 TFC 的附属模组,必须先安装 TerraFirmaCraft 主体才能正常运行。
### 移植自高版本 TFC 的内容
积雪逻辑 —— 积雪现在是在对应的气候立即生效。冬天在外面跑不会慢慢一层层积雪,夏天也不会慢慢化雪;当你走进一个区块,那里的积雪状态就已经和当前季节、当前气候对齐了。
地形(109 种群系)—— 完整移植了高版本 TFC 的群系和群系过渡,总共 109 种。包括新的海洋变种(珊瑚海、深海、海沟)、新的陆地群系(山地带、恶地、高原、盾火山区等)、以及它们之间的平滑过渡。
海洋深度 —— 自行重写的连续加深算法。普通海 → 珊瑚海 → 深海 → 海沟之间不再是阶梯式的"咔一下"过渡,而是平滑加深,海沟核心区会渐降到真正的深处,不会卡在某个固定的海床高度。
气候与季节(31 种气候)—— 完整移植了 31 种柯本气候分类,覆盖热带 / 干旱 / 温带 / 大陆性 / 极地等区。同时移植了新的气候面板与日历 HUD,运行时的天气、降雨判定也都按新气候模型走。地图上你站的位置真的会决定能种什么、长得好不好。
植物季相 —— 树叶、花草、莲花、向日葵等的动态季相外观。树木和植物会随季节肉眼可见地变化;秋天树叶变色,花在自己的季节开放,水面长出莲花,向日葵跟着夏天走。主要是风景美化,但走在世界里会真的有"气候确实在跑"的感觉。
作物 / 农田 / 杂草 / 花朵 —— 完整移植。高版本 TFC 的新作物、新农田行为、新杂草和地面花卉,都已经能在 1.20 端使用。
新生物与刷新 —— 新增了野牛、海豹等新生物,并按高版本的气候口径刷新(而不是 1.20 的旧口径)。上游已经更新的老生物——北极熊、冰原狼——也按高版本气候逻辑运行,所以会出现在气候上真正合理的位置。
害虫系统 —— 完整移植高版本的害虫系统:跟随气候变化的多种小型啮齿类动物(旅鼠 / 獴 / 跳鼠等),会在气候合适的地方刷新。
手册条目 —— 在 TFC 手册首页新增了"TerraFirmaEarth / 群峦地球"独立分类。条目内容比较粗糙,主要是方便玩家在游戏内查作物的生长条件。
### 额外的内容
真实降雨决定湿度 —— 作物、果树、浆果灌木等的湿度直接取决于当前降雨量,并且可以读取附近的水源(河流、湖泊、池塘)。靠近水源种庄稼会很滋润;在干旱群系里、又远离水源,作物就会长得不好。湿度不再只是一个写死的群系数值。
高低版本兼容层 —— 让高版本的生物、气候、植物等数据在 1.20 端正常工作,兼容了 1.20 已经提前注册的物品。理论上不会因为版本移植而出现重复注册导致的崩溃。
AFC 兼容(林海传说)—— 启用 AFC 时,活火山、山地森林等区域的森林层(树量、腐殖层、林下植被)会被重新协调,避免 AFC 与 TFE 群系叠加后出现"光秃秃"或"没有腐殖土"的现象。
地图 mod 兼容 —— 兼容 JourneyMap 等主流地图 mod,包含为移植群系添加的颜色映射,新群系在小地图 / 大地图上能够正确显示。
FirmalifeEnhanced 温室与地窖重置兼容 —— 兼容 FirmalifeEnhanced 0.1.3 以上版本的温室 / 地窖重置。在受控温室范围内,作物、果树、浆果灌木等会按年均温度和年均湿度判定,不受外部天气影响——也就是说你修一个合格的温室,是真能护住作物熬过一个糟糕季节的。
数据包接入说明 —— 随附 GitHub 上的《数据包兼容写法教程》,方便整合包作者自定义生物刷新规则、追加 fauna 条目、协调 AFC 兼容下的森林写法。
