What's new
[TaCZ] Weapon Research & Blueprints 1.3.1-beta.1
This beta brings physical Scrap, tiered weapon analysis, and a redesigned Tech Tree to the 1.3 series. Research Data can now produce weapon fragments and blueprints, with configurable rewards and target pools.
Highlights
- Physical research currency — Carry Scrap to pay for research and Analyzer actions. Banked Research Points (RP) remains a configurable option.
- Three Blueprint Analyzer tiers — Weapon and Analyzer tiers determine the chances of a blueprint, fragments, or no reward. By default, only attempts above the Analyzer's tier can produce nothing. Datapacks can change every tier pair, cost, fragment amount, and reconstruction requirement.
- Research Data analysis — Notes target Tier 1 weapons, Reports target Tiers 1–2, and Dossiers target Tiers 1–3 by default. Save matching analysis fragments to reconstruct a blueprint.
- Clearer research screens — The Tech Tree separates branches, keeps weapon artwork visible farther out, and expands when nothing is selected. The Blueprint Analyzer has a new layout with clearer results and fewer repeated messages.
- Updated workstations — New models distinguish the Research Bench, crafting Workbench, and Blueprint Analyzer tiers. Each tier has a direct crafting recipe.
- Simpler settings — Settings are grouped by purpose, percentages and hold times use familiar units, and choices have clearer names and explanations.
Fixes
- Loaded weapons can be analyzed or recycled: successful actions return their ammo to your inventory and drop any overflow at your feet.
- Multiplayer settings display the server's values when you join.
- Improved Analyzer previews and recovery after failed actions, retained research progress across respawns, and corrected Tech Tree navigation and refresh behavior.
Updating
Install the same beta on the server and every client. Back up your world and configuration before testing this beta on an existing save.
Scrap and Research Data analysis are the defaults when the new economy settings are absent. Existing saved RP is preserved and is not automatically converted into Scrap. Explicit currency and Data settings remain in effect. Review the currency migration guide to retain the old economy or convert saved RP.
Existing datapacks can still override the bundled rules. Blueprint Analyzers now occupy two blocks side by side; allow room for both halves. Upgrade kits have been removed in favor of direct station recipes.
