Description

Compare Stats

This is a Minecraft server-side Forge mod for querying and displaying player statistics in-game.

When playing on an SMP world, you often want to be able to show who has the most deaths or the most playtime on the server. However, the /scoreboard command in Minecraft is severely limited: there are only three ways for non-operators to see different scores, meaning only three scores can realistically be used at a time. If you want to start counting the number of deaths after the server has already been up for a week, it will start from zero. Creating custom scores requires more than a basic understanding of datapacks and is often inefficient and bad for server performance.

All of this is solved with this mod. Stat Compare introduces a new command: /score. It allows all players on the server to compare their stats from the "Statistics" screen in the pause menu. It can show anything from how many dirt blocks you and other players have broken, to beacons activated, to deaths—including deaths by llama—all displayed in a neat top-ten format.

Not only that, but it also allows you to create custom scores. The mod comes with an example: deaths_per_hour. These scores take existing statistics and allow you to perform arithmetic operations on them—such as deaths/play_time. They are highly customizable using a simple and easy-to-understand JSON format, and they are also far more resource-efficient than the datapack alternative for achieving the same results.

The mod is still in beta and not everything is done, please let us know if you encounter any bugs!
Planned Features:

  • Better Formatting, including units and shorthand numbers.
  • Better Customizabilty Format for easier editing of your custom scores.
  • Find and click in statistics screen for quick leaderboard [Mod is required on client for this to work]
