Description
StableCap Pacer is a client-side performance utility that improves capped FPS smoothness by using a high-precision frame pacer. It helps reduce frame-time jitter and micro-stutter when you play with an FPS limit.
This mod works with any FPS cap — 120 is just the default. You can set it to whatever you want (60 / 90 / 120 / 144 / 165 / 240, etc.).
How to use
-
Set Minecraft Video Settings → Max Framerate to Unlimited (or 260) so you don’t double-limit.
-
Launch once, then edit:
config/stablecap-client.toml-
Change
targetFps = 120to your preferred cap.
-
Recommended for smoother pacing
For the most stable feel, set the target slightly below your monitor refresh rate:
-
120 Hz → 117–119
-
144 Hz → 141–143
-
165 Hz → 162–164
-
240 Hz → 237–239
Notes
-
Client-side only (no server install needed).
-
StableCap improves frame pacing, not maximum FPS. It won’t “force” extra FPS if the game is limited by CPU stalls, chunk updates, or heavy rendering — it just makes capped FPS feel steadier when the system can keep up.
