Stops you from breaking crops that aren't fully grown. Young crops are shown low but covering the whole block, with a tiny hitbox, so gaps are easy to spot and replanting is easy. Hold Shift to break one anyway. Fabric, Minecraft 26.3.

Unripe crops (wheat, carrots, potatoes, beets, nether warts) are displayed very small, with the same appearance regardless of their stage.
Hitbox reduced and identical for all the immature stages, to target the ground and replant easily.
