Soul Land Mod — Dev Log: The Forging & World Update
Hey everyone, massive update here. This one took a while but it touches pretty much every part of the mod. Here's what's new:
Hidden Weapons & Forging
Built out the full Tang Sect hidden weapons system. There's a new Forging Table block where you combine materials to craft 16 different weapons — everything from basic Sleeve Darts you can make at level 1 all the way up to the Buddha's Fury Tang Lotus at level 90. The Godly Zhuge Crossbow fires 48 arrows in 3 volleys. Peacock Plume shoots 365 needles in a fan. There are also two one-use legendary items: Yama's Invitation (instant kill) and Bodhi Blood (300 damage explosion). Each weapon has its own combat mechanic, SP cost, cooldown, and level requirement.
Three Tang Sect Techniques
Added the three signature techniques from the novel, all with tiered progression:
Purple Demon Eyes (P key) — Train it by meditating at dawn. Starts with night vision, eventually becomes a ranged mental damage beam and at max tier it's a full AoE stun domain. Four tiers.
Ghost Shadow Track (N key) — A dash that gets longer and more powerful as you level it. At tier 3 you're teleporting 20 blocks, going invisible for 3 seconds, confusing nearby enemies, and passively dodging 35% of incoming attacks. The dodge is real — it actually cancels damage in the hurt event.
Controlling Crane Capturing Dragon (H key) — Telekinesis. Push enemies away, pull items and entities toward you. At max tier you can grab 8 targets at once and deflect incoming arrows. Shift+H for pull, H for push.
All three gain XP through use and auto-rank up when you hit thresholds.
Continental Tournament
Full 5-round tournament bracket against 8 novel-accurate academy teams. Register with a command, then fight 4 opponents per round. Each fighter has a martial soul, element-specific skills, and 3-phase AI — they buff up at 60% HP, then go full Spirit Avatar mode at 25% with an ultimate ability. Die and your round resets, but completed rounds save permanently.
Rewards scale from basic crystals and pills up to the Godly Zhuge Crossbow at semifinals and a Buddha's Fury Tang Lotus for winning the championship. Also built a full colosseum arena structure with tiered seating, 12 pillars, and archway entrances.
Two Major World Structures
Yin Yang Well — A 55-radius crater split into an ice half and a fire half with a yin-yang water/lava pattern at the center. Twelve herb pedestals surround the well. Generates naturally a few thousand blocks northeast.
Heaven Dou City — The imperial capital. 80-block radius with outer walls, an inner palace, Spirit Master Academy, Spirit Hall branch cathedral, a market district with colored-awning stalls, residential houses, cherry blossom-lined roads, and a central fountain plaza. Generates naturally to the south.
Both spawn automatically via seed-deterministic world gen, along with the tournament arena.
6 Boss Arenas
Each of the six novel bosses now has a hand-built arena that generates naturally 1200-2600 blocks from spawn. The Spirit Hall Cathedral alone is a 44×24 gothic deepslate structure with stained glass, a bell tower, and a graveyard. The Spider's Lair is underground with webs, poison pools, and a spiral staircase entrance.
Ancient Spirit Incense
New late-game consumable for bone farming. Requires level 60. Burns it and 8-12 boss-variant beasts spawn, all 100K+ years old — which means they're all eligible to drop spirit bones. Crafted from a Nether Star, Soul Crystals, and an Immortal Herb. This was the missing piece that makes spirit bone collecting actually viable without just using admin commands.
Poison System
10 poisons ranked from Numbing Powder (level 1, brief slow) up to Yama's Essence (level 90, instant 50% HP damage plus Wither V). Poison effectiveness scales with your soul power. All craftable at the Forging Table.
Quality of Life
Stat multipliers reworked — The old percentage sliders were causing problems at high levels where your speed would be insane. Now you type a decimal from 0.00 to 1.00 directly. Type 0.05 to cap your speed at 5% of max. Way more precise.
Spirit bone sync fixed — Bones were absorbing on the server but the client never knew about it, so the K menu always showed empty slots. Added a proper sync packet. Should just work now.
End dimension data loss fixed — Returning from the End was wiping your cultivation data. The clone handler wasn't copying on non-death respawns.
Cultivation Manual rewritten — 42 pages covering every system, zero yellow-on-white text (that was unreadable), clean color scheme throughout.
