SkyWorlds 0.2.0
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Seasons, the server spawn campus and the champions' museum move over from Data Center. With this release SkyWorlds carries the whole SkyBlock half of the Data Center pack - Data Center 1.8.0 has none of it left, and a pack that wants islands needs SkyWorlds.
Added
Seasons. A server's world runs for a while, is won, and is replaced by a fresh one.
/seasonshows which season this is and how long it has left; the best party and the best solo player are crowned at the end. Off unlessskyblock.seasonCountdownis on, and only where the zone rules apply - a dedicated server, by default. The champions' museum. Both champions' islands are saved exactly as they stood - every block, machine and item frame within
skyblock.championRadius- and go up near the spawn of the next season, with a board over each./season visit teamand/season visit solotake you there. Nothing in an exhibit can be touched, by anybody, operators in creative included, and nothing in it runs: every block entity inside is frozen. The automatic reset. With
skyblock.autoReseton, the end of a season announces itself, waitsskyblock.resetDelayMinutesfor a last look around, then stops the server. On the next start the finished world is moved into theskyworlds-seasonsfolder beside it and a fresh one begins. Nothing is ever deleted - every season's world, and both champions' islands, stay on disk. The spawn campus. On a dedicated server the spawn is no longer the same 9x9 plot everybody gets, but a campus 81 blocks across: a plaza with the notice board, a data hall, an Academy with seven stations in the order the early game is played, a Hall of Fame, the gate to your island, gardens, a solar field and floating islets. It replaces the plot once, and only when nothing but the plot stands there.
Boards over the spawn: the countdown to the next season, the Discord invite (
skyblock.discordInvite, also/discordand a clickable line on login), and the Hall of Fame with the champions on display.A small API for the pack around it (
com.rhille.skyworlds.api). SkyWorlds hands out ground, not points, so it asks whoever has registered:- a
ScoreProvidersays what a season is won with; - a
SeasonClocksays when it ends; - a
BlockFreezersays what to do with machines standing in a build on display; - an
IslandListeneris told when an island has really been built.
None of it is required. Installed on its own SkyWorlds is complete: seasons run and end on
skyblock.seasonLengthHours, nobody is ranked, and every machine in an exhibit simply stops. Installed with Data Center 1.8.0, that mod fills all four in: Compute and mining income decide the season, the season ends the day the bundled real Bitcoin history runs out, and the cabinets on the campus and in the museum blink in demo mode.- a
Changed
- The spawn campus was drawn for the Data Center pack and names that mod's blocks. Without Data Center installed those read as air, and the campus stands with gaps where the racks would be; the platform, the halls, the boards and the gate are vanilla and look as intended.
- New Discord invite in the default config:
https://discord.gg/7PBBUR32Yu.
Note
Nothing here reads anything Data Center wrote. The season archive is skyworlds-seasons, the world
data is skyworlds_season, and the campus flag is new - a server that ran Data Center's seasons
starts over at season 1. The public server is off and no world of that kind is running, which is
why this was allowed to be a clean break.
