Signal Lost 1.0.2
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Changelog
1.0.2
- Changed: every creature was redesigned with a new model, texture and animation. They were built to be unsettling rather than cartoonish: long stillness broken by sudden snaps, joints that bend the wrong way, and faces that are almost human.
- Something in the Trees and the Grinner were rebuilt from scratch.
- The Weeper's head now turns slowly until it finds you, and the Lengthened grows taller while you look at it.
- Changed: the jumpscares are animated now: the thing lunges at you, its jaw tears open and the picture falls apart.
- Changed: every sound was remade: the creature voices, the whispers, the ambience of the four places and the music. Fewer sounds overall: the Mimic, the Grinner's approach, the deer's snorting and the toasts are silent now, the doors use their normal sounds, and the Static crackles like plain TV static.
- Changed: the whispers start on the word (no more breath that gets cut off), and the numbers station starts straight with the voice.
- Changed: the jumpscares scream (a different recorded scream for each), the knocking is a recorded knock on a wooden door, and the Weeper cries with a real recording. Its shriek is gone: when it turns, the crying just stops.
- Changed: the silence event lasts 7-12 seconds instead of up to a minute, and it always ends with knocking at the nearest door or right behind you.
- Changed: the radio tower is rebuilt as a 38-block fire-lookout tower with stairs up to a glass cabin, a catwalk, a mast and a radio hut at its foot, and the transmitter site is a bunker with a tall aerial, stairs down and w.'s last listening post. Both have room for your head on every step, never stand in water and never touch anything a player built.
- Changed: events have more variety. The same event, or two of the same kind, never happen back to back. Events you have not seen yet are more likely.
- Changed: pop-ups, fake screens, the jumpscare and the silence happen at most once per session. Closing and reopening the world resets this.
- Changed: faster pacing. The story reaches its second stage after about 45 minutes of play, and a 90 minute session now sees about two thirds of all events.
- Changed: the mod's advancements no longer play the vanilla fanfare. They show their own glitching toast with a quiet sound.
- Changed: the vanilla tutorial hints ("Move with WASD" and so on) and the recipe pop-ups are hidden.
- Added: while the Host has "joined the game", it is in the Tab player list.
- Added: once per world, the pause menu does not want to let you go. It lets go after a few seconds, and closing the game window always works.
- Added: the disconnect and "Saving world" screens pick up a little static.
- Added: config option
menuTricksfor the pause menu and the disconnect/saving screens. "Tone it down" switches it off. - Changed: no more "Experimental Settings" warning when the dream dimensions are the only reason for it (config
hideExperimentalWarning). A world that is experimental for any other reason still gets the warning. - Fixed: the things it builds (graves, pillars, crosses, sign circles, tunnels) are no longer put in water, and tunnels stop before they would open into water or lava.
- Fixed: the Grinner could trigger its jumpscare before it was even on screen.
- Fixed: the static that leads you out of a dream could not be heard from where you arrive.
- Fixed: clicking the Receiver quickly stacked the number readings on top of each other.
1.0.1
- Fixed: touching the transmitter could drop players into the void of the grey world and kill them. Everyone now arrives on solid ground, facing the monolith.
- Fixed: the same unloaded-ground problem could affect the radio tower, the buried room and waking up from a dream. All of them now load the ground first, and anyone falling out of a dream is woken up instead of dying.
- Changed: the frequency only opens the trail once you have visited all four dream places. Saying it earlier gets a reply once for each new place you have seen, and w.'s logs now hint at this.
- Changed: dreams now prefer places you have not visited yet.
- Changed: the monolith in the ending is lit by soul lanterns, so you can see what is waiting there.
- Changed: Stillwater is brighter, so you can actually see in it.
- Changed: menu buttons use the normal Minecraft click sound again.
- Added: title screen compatibility with Essential and FancyMenu. Their menus stay on a restyled vanilla title screen.
- Added: mod icon in the Mods list.
