Description
The Player can assemble intricate mechanisms, craft arcane artifacts, and in some cases, even create complex natural minerals in the palm of their hand (seriously how does the Granite recipe work?). And yet, many simple recipes still indicate a lack of skill. Materials are wasted, seemingly man-made things remain elusively uncraftable, etc. Steve Is Better Than That (SIBTT) is a series of mods that attemps to fix this by adding and changing recipes, to better reflect the Player's true skills & ingenuity.

SIBTT: Woodworking adds a single item: the Wooden Board. Wooden Boards are replacements for planks in any recipe that is agnostic about wood type, like the Note Block. A Note Block, despite presumably being a hollow wooden box containing an acoustic mechanism, requires two entire logs worth of wood when crafted normally. Imagine how much wood must be wasted! When crafted with Boards instead, a Note Block only requires the equivlant of two planks. Much better!
Wooden Boards themselves are very cheap, with the only thing that could be described as a "cost" being the mild tedium of crafting them in bulk:
Simply take 6 of any wooden slab, and nail them together with a bit of copper. I'm not sure if copper nails are used in carpenty irl, but I couldn't pass up an early-game use of copper like that. Speaking of which, SIBTT: Woodworking does not have its own copper nuggets. You will need another mod that adds copper nuggets, such as Create or one of the no-doubt many copper update backports. The nuggets in the recipe screenshot are Create's.
More SIBTT mods to come soon!
Happy crafting!!
