Vanish into invisibility while summoning a combat-ready decoy to distract and fight your enemies.

Description

Shadowstep Enchantment

Shadowstep is a mysterious and powerful new enchantment for boots that allows you to vanish into the shadows, leaving behind a physical echo of yourself to distract and combat your enemies. It is the ultimate tool for stealth missions, tactical retreats, or turning the tide of a losing battle.

Features

  • Shadow Decoy: Whenever you start sneaking, you summon a Decoy—a 1:1 magical clone that copies your Skin, Armor, currently held Items and status effects.
  • Aggro Redirection: The moment the Decoy appears, all nearby mobs (including Piglin Brutes, Wardens, and Endermen) immediately lose interest in you and focus their rage on your clone.
  • Combat Echo: Your Decoy isn't just a distraction; it fights back! It inherits your weapon’s damage and enchantments, attacking any mob that dares to approach.
  • Status Mimicry: The Decoy inherits your active Potion Effects (like Strength or Speed), making the illusion indistinguishable from the real player.
  • Stealth Mastery: While your Decoy draws all the heat, you gain Invisibility to reposition or escape.

Enchantment Levels

  • Shadowstep I: Grants 10 seconds of invisibility and decoy lifespan.
  • Shadowstep II: Grants 15 seconds of invisibility and decoy lifespan.

Note: The effect has a short internal cooldown to prevent spamming and ensure tactical usage.

How to Obtain

  • Can be found in Ancient City chests or obtained from the Enchanting Table.
  • Appears as a rare drop (5%), fitting its powerful nature.
  • Apply it to any type of Boots using the Shadowstep Book and an Anvil.

Gameplay Note

  • Totem Safety: Decoys are illusions and cannot use Totems of Undying. If you are holding one, the Decoy will simply have an empty hand.
  • Anti-Dupe: Decoys are bound to the shadows. They never drop items or armor upon "death" or expiration.

The invisibility effect follows the same rules as the vanilla potion effect — for example, equipped armor still makes you partially visible.
