Changes:

  • A rewrite under the hood that redoes the old system using capabilities for max hunger. Max hunger is now handled by attributes alone. As a result, any modifications from earlier versions will be lost. Only modifications like SOL:Carrot integration are preserved because they are recomputed using external capability information.

Let's make this clear: Boosts/penalties provided by Hearty Shanks/starving/death/etc from 1.7.1 and earlier can not, and will not persist in 1.8 onwards. You'll have to get those boosts from scratch.

This only applies to max hunger. Bloated hunger, and the dynamic starvation exhaustion tracker will persist just fine.

  • The regular starvation tracker capability has been merged with a new feature. As such, your current tracker count may not persist either.
  • This rewrite should fix the random crash that was caused by SOL:Carrot integration.
  • Integration with Spice of Life and SOL:Carrot can be dynamically enabled/disabled in game without having to restart the game.
  • The config has been reorganized as well, making navigation much more intuitive.
  • Bloated hunger now regularly syncs to the client (if non zero) to prevent desync in the HUD.
  • Bloated hunger now also influences the "jitteriness" of the hunger bar. The HUD now takes into account both a player's hunger level and their bloated level when determining how much the hunger bar shakes. This better shows how Bloated hunger prevents starving.
  • The Hearty Shank Usage Ticker capability from 1.7 has been removed, and is replaced by better attribute modifier logic. The feature still exists, but is done way better.

New Features

  • New ore: Exhausting Ore, with usual block, ingot, nugget recipes, all oredicted.
    • Block usable as beacon base
    • Ingot usable in beacon as payment
    • Nugget usable in brewing.
  • Exhausting Apple, made with new ingots, completely restores hunger and saturation, but decreases max hunger.
  • Ore and block cost extra exhaustion to break.
  • starvation scaling: take more damage the more you starve
  • different regen criteria for hunger.
  • Hearty Feast now provides an Iron Stomach buff for a configurable duration. Now also accurately tells you how much hunger and saturation you get per slice (Yeah, that's not really helpful after you place it, but it's something).

Support For Tinkers and Conarm using new ore!
