Sablewaves

Minecraft’s oceans were never meant to stay flat. With Sablewaves you can experience Minecraft the way it was meant to be.

What's new

2.14.1
The current readout needs a Current Locator now. It didn't before, which was dumb of me —
the whole point of the block is that the ocean doesn't come with instruments and you have to
go make some, except the numbers were showing up for free anyway. Kind of undercuts the
block. Arrows already needed one, now the readout does too. Toggle on the Locator tab if you
want it always on.
Beach doesn't look like doodoo anymore. It was one line. The foam was written as "anything
shallower than half a block counts as the leading edge", which sounds fine until you notice
that on a flat beach basically the whole flooded area is shallower than half a block. So the
entire thing went white, at nearly full opacity, in big flat sheets with hard straight edges
where one column stopped qualifying and the next one didn't. Yeah. That's what those plastic
looking panels were.
Foam is a narrow band at one specific depth now, which is actually correct — the waterline is
a line of constant depth, so as the water rises and falls that band runs up and down the sand
by itself. Free swash. Water also fades all the way to invisible as it gets thin instead of
stopping at 35% opacity, so no more hard edges. And it only climbs about a block up the beach
instead of three, because three blocks of height on a gentle slope is a really long way
inland.
