Hidden Biomes
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
0.4.0 — Hidden Biomes
(the Nether's seven secret biomes — plus a big pile of new toys)
Volume I — the real End biomes
- The End finally has distinct biomes. A custom End biome source replaces vanilla's — beyond the main island you find The Endesert, The End Badlands, and The End Jungle (thick with giant chorus trees). The central island stays vanilla, so the Ender Dragon fight, exit portal and gateways are untouched.
- The desert biomes skin their whole islands in gravity sand. Endesert = blue-sandstone body with blue sand packed underneath (it falls up); End Badlands = green-sandstone body with green sand on the sides (it slides sideways). Sandstone is redstone-gated, so islands never drift on their own.
Volume I — gear & polish
- Purified is now just an enchantment — one enchantment on your own gear (sword: beats Sapling Sprites; armor: −20% fire/lava/blaze per piece). Roll it at the table, or craft a Purified book (book + Purification Ball) and anvil it on.
- Endstone Wall puzzle — four Resonant Endstone blocks (retextured, strong-pick only) each ring a rising tone; break the last and the hidden Waterfall releases.
- Bee spawns tidied — Yellow Canopy & Cherry Blossom Pocket use the standard animal spawn rule.
Little extras
- Chorus Torch (stick + popped chorus fruit, makes 4; floor or wall).
- Octarine Lamp (full-bright magic-colored block; glowstone + 4 Octarine Dye).
- Cactus dyes — smelt Nether Cactus → Red Dye, Purple Cactus → Purple Dye.
- Plum Wart retextured as a bumpy plum-colored Nether-wart block.
- Nether tree foliage are wart blocks now — Grey/Green/Yellow Mangrove Leaves → Wart Blocks (solid, non-decaying). Cherry keeps its pink leaves.
- Plum Forest polish — spore blossoms hang from the caps/roof, warm water pools dot the floor.
- Yellow Canopy bees & honey — honey/honeycomb/hay clumps + bee nests hang from the ceiling. (Last missing piece — Volume II is content-complete.)
- Tree foods — Octarine leaves drop Purple Apples, plum caps drop Maroon Apples, plus Purple Mushroom Stew.
The Nether's Hidden Biomes (Volume II)
- Cherry Blossom Pocket — Stunted Cherry Trees over a pink-petal carpet; bats + rare bees.
- Yellow Canopy — honey-yellow ceiling with Downward Mangroves (upside-down trees).
- Grey Biome — Twisting Grey Trees that grow sideways then bend up.
- Green Biome — Green Trees, green-grass floor, translucent Green Glass.
- Freezing Anomaly — pillars of packed/blue ice.
- Obsidian Obscurity — tiered obsidian/basalt towers.
- Nether Desert — warm Nether Sand dunes with tough cacti.
New blocks & items
- The Cooler — right-click with water to place a Nether-proof water source (ice + Yellow Mangrove leaves + stick).
- Grey/Green block families + Nether Sand.
- Dad's Bomb Pack — Mega, Launch, Cluster, Nuke, Bunker Buster, Hilltop Clearer.
- Vertical Slabs — 10 materials, combinable back into full blocks.
- Color-Coded Ender Chests — 16 colours + plain, each its own 54-slot shared network.
- Chorus wood set + dark-oak-sized giant Chorus Trees.
- Octarine dye — the "colour of magic," dyes wool/carpet/terracotta/concrete/powder + a custom Octarine Bed.
Changed / Fixed
- End Nether-portal round-trips; calmer End music; Plum Village grows from Villager Sprouts (no world-gen freeze); plum vines.
- Leaves no longer decay/drop; Gravity Anchor truly reverses gravity (Up) + floaty zero-g (All-Around); full Green & Grey wood sets; cactus in both deserts.
- Gardening pass — Super/Ultra Bonemeal now 9×/81×; petals only settle where they can stay; hardened asset validator in CI.
- Gravity Anchor reachable — sneak to escape; All-Around is genuinely weightless.
- Nether Desert cacti fixed — the red Nether Cactus is its own block that roots in Nether Sand.
