Description
RimMood
RimMood turns villagers into actual little people instead of silent trade machines. They track mood over time, react to what happens around them, build up pressure when life gets bad, and can even suffer mental breaks when pushed too far.
A villager’s mood changes based on daily life and village conditions. Good things like working, chatting, being near cats, living in a safe village, having food, relaxing near flowers, gathering together, and trading with players can raise morale, while hunger, lack of sleep, loneliness, crowding, injuries, bad weather, nearby monsters, grief, insults, and losing their bed can drag it down.
Mood is not just cosmetic. Happier villagers can give better prices, while miserable ones become harder to deal with and more unstable over time.
When things get really bad, villagers can enter different mental states instead of just standing around normally. Some may wander in a daze, hide in their room, lash out with insults, start fires, or go berserk. Berserk villagers are dangerous, but they calm down after reaching their limit or when the break ends, gaining catharsis afterward.
Each villager has a visible name and compact mood display, making it easy to read the village at a glance without cluttering the screen. Nearby players can also receive chat alerts when major mood events or breakdowns happen, which makes villages feel far more alive and reactive.
There are also fun social moments. Villagers can gather for a party and head toward the campfire together, adding a bit of life and charm to the settlement instead of everything being pure mechanics.
The mod also includes admin and debug commands for inspecting villagers, checking events, viewing pressure, starting or clearing mental breaks, triggering parties, and tuning behavior during testing. Most important values are configurable, so you can make villages peaceful, chaotic, brutal, or somewhere in between.
