Welcome to Redstone Enhancements!
Here's a breakdown of the changes:
-
Redstone Sword
This weapon no longer uses durability — instead, it relies entirely on its Charge system.
The Redstone Sword features a Sword Chain Attack ability. When enabled and the sword is fully charged, attacking a mob will cause the attack to chain to nearby hostile mobs within range, dealing additional damage.
This ability can be toggled ON / OFF by holding Shift while holding the Redstone Sword, and your choice is saved per player between sessions.
-
Redstone Axe
The Redstone Axe uses Charge instead of durability.
When fully charged, the axe allows you to chop entire trees vertically in one action. This only applies to naturally generated or sapling-grown trees, as the axe checks for connected leaves in the vertical column.
This prevents abuse on artificial builds or log structures with manually attached leaves.
Each log consumes a portion of Charge when chopped.
-
Redstone Pickaxe
The Redstone Pickaxe no longer uses durability.
When fully charged, it allows you to mine pickaxe-typical blocks (such as Stone, Cobblestone, etc.) in a 3x3 area simultaneously, dramatically increasing mining efficiency when properly charged.
-
Redstone Shovel
The Redstone Shovel uses Charge instead of durability.
When fully charged, it allows you to mine shovel-typical blocks (such as Sand, Gravel, Dirt, etc.) in a 3x3 area at once.
-
Redstone Hoe
The Redstone Hoe uses Charge instead of durability.
Right-clicking dirt will till a 3x3 area at once.
Additionally, right-clicking fully grown crops will harvest them (without destroying the crop blocks) in a 3x3 area, making large-scale farming much faster and cleaner.
-
Redstone Armour
The Redstone Armour set uses a dedicated Armour Charge system.
Special Ability:
When wearing all four pieces of Redstone Armour, holding Crouch (Shift) will activate Armor Pulse, releasing a redstone-powered pulse that damages and pushes back nearby hostile mobs.
This ability:
-
Can be toggled ON / OFF using Alt + Shift
-
Persists per player between sessions
-
Requires holding Shift for 2 seconds
-
Only activates when hostile mobs are nearby
-
Will not damage the player or their pets
The Armour Charge is displayed in the Red meter at the top left of the screen.
All Special Abilities:
-
Each tool and weapon has its own Charge
-
Crafted items start at 0 Charge
-
The Orange meter shows the Charge of the item in your hand
-
The Red meter shows your Armour Charge
-
Charge is generated by standing within a 32-block diameter of unique, active Redstone components
Here is the full list of components that can charge your tools, weapons, and armour:
-
All Button types
-
All Pressure Plate types

-
Additional Redstone Torches do not stack
-
1 powered Redstone Dust provides additional Charge
-
Additional powered Redstone Dust does not stack
This encourages creative Redstone setups to maximize Charge generation, up to the configured cap.
Charging priority works as follows:
-
Redstone Tools charge before Armour
-
Holding a non-Redstone item (or no item) allows Armour to charge
-
Holding a fully charged Redstone Tool allows Armour to charge
-
Holding a not-fully-charged Redstone Tool will prioritize that tool first
Additional Features & Protections:
-
Added a GUI showing:
-
How many charge-capable blocks are nearby
-
The resulting Charge gained per second
-
-
Armor Pulse and Sword Chain Attack do not damage players or pets
-
Improved balance and internal safeguards for combat abilities
-
Numerous bug fixes and stability improvements
As usual, this mod is both Client and Server side, so it must be installed on both to function correctly.
This mod is designed for Fabric on Minecraft 1.21.5.
The crafting recipes for all Redstone items are available in the Recipe Guide Book once you pick up Redstone.
Recipes generally replace standard materials with Redstone Dust, keeping them simple and intuitive.
And lastly, here’s a video showcasing the Redstone Enhancements tools and armour!
In the video, you can see the different abilities in action, the Charge meters, and how Redstone components recharge your equipment.
