Recruits-Medieval Siege Machine mod compat addon

Compatibility addon between Talhanation's Villager Recruits and Magistu's Medieval Siege Machines mod.

Description
Enables bowman from villager recruits mod to operate ranged siege engines.

Instruction

  1. In your saves/world/serverconfig/recruits-server.toml add the following to MountWhiteList:
    "siegemachines:ballista", "siegemachines:mortar", "siegemachines:culverin", "siegemachines:trebuchet", "siegemachines:catapult","siegemachines:battering_ram", "siegemachines:siege_ladder"
  2. Give your Bowman recruit ammunition or put it into the machine.
  3. Press 'R' and command Mount in the third tab and then Attack or Strategic Fire in the first tab.
  4. Press 'M' or enalbe Fire at will mode in the first tab by pressing 'R'.
  5. Enjoy!

    IMP- use the latest version of siege machines and this addon
             If your game crashes while firing multiple culverins at the same spot then go to config and find siege-               machine-specs.toml and toggle allow-friendly-fire to true.


All details about what works and what not are fully explained in this video (outdated- most of the problems mentioned in the video is fixed now):

Make sure you let them reload and aim, then press keybind to shoot (keybind should be in gameplay section of keybinds) also make sure they are either on wander freely or holding position and not following you.

Also some machines like trebuchet and catapult have fixed arc so make sure to place them at appropriate distance as recruits can't vertically aim these and these machines do the aiming themselves, for these recruits only rotate them. (NOTE- You need to add each siege machine as mount in recruit's serverconfig)

Battering rams and ladders are added with recruits and shieldmen supporting them.
1-Mount the recruit or shieldman on the ram/ladder.
2-Press "B" to open the command screen and select the machine by placing your crosshair on it.
3-See the video to understand the usage of rest of the buttons.
