Update 1.3.6 for Forge 1.20.1!

The Living World & Modpackers Update This massive update focuses on integrating Random Attributes seamlessly into your survival world, adding hardcore durability mechanics, and giving modpack creators absolute freedom to build the ultimate RPG experience!

Major Features

  • World Loot Generation: Items found in dungeon chests and vanilla loot can now generate with random attributes right out of the box! (Configurable chance, default 25%).
  • Elite Mobs: The world just got dangerous. Monsters now have a 5% chance to spawn as glowing "Elites". They possess boosted health/damage and wield pre-leveled attributed gear that they have a very high chance to drop upon death!
  • Material Fatigue: (Experimental Config) Attribute power is now tied to the item's current durability. As your weapon or armor takes damage, its positive bonuses become significantly weaker (down to 30% efficiency), while its curses become up to 2x STRONGER!
  • Distance Scaling: The further you travel from spawn (0, 0), the better the loot! Items found in distant chests will spawn with higher starting levels (+1 level per 2500 blocks).

New Attributes & Combat Mechanics

  • New Attribute - Cooldown Reduction: Speeds up (or slows down, if cursed) the recharge time of items like Ender Pearls, Shields, and magic staves from other mods by manipulating the player's internal tick rate!
  • 8 New "Shadow" Attributes: Added 8 new hardcore mechanics specifically for Modpack creators (accessible via KubeJS, Datapacks, or Commands). These will not roll randomly on the anvil to preserve balance, but can be applied to custom legendary quest items or boss drops:
    • Thorns: Returns a percentage of melee damage back to the attacker.
    • Fall Resistance: Absorbs (or amplifies) fall damage.
    • Executioner: Has a chance to instantly kill a target if they are below 25% health.
    • Frost Strike: Chills enemies on hit, severely slowing their movement.
    • First Strike: Deals massive bonus damage if the target is at maximum health.
    • Cleave: Deals AoE sweep damage to all enemies around your target.
    • Midas Strike: A chance to extract Gold Nuggets directly from slain enemies.
    • Ender Interference: Randomly teleports enemies who dare to strike you in melee combat!

Configs, Commands & Fixes

  • Uncapped Power: Added customMaxAttribute to the config. Modpackers can now completely bypass the preset limits and set the maximum attribute boundary to ridiculous numbers (e.g., 150% Life Steal or 300% Move Speed)!
  • New Command: Added /randomattributes durability <amount> to easily test Material Fatigue mechanics.
  • Universal Food Protection: Implemented a hardcoded check that strictly prevents any edible or drinkable items (including complex ones from other mods) from ever receiving random attributes.
