What's new
Spirit Race Addon — v1.4.14 Changelog
1.4.14 — Spirit Size & Beatrice Pact Update
Spirit Size
- Spirits now receive a randomized physical height between 0.50 and 1.50 blocks.
- The size is applied using Minecraft's scaling system, affecting the Spirit's:
- Physical model
- Hitbox
- Eye height
- Overall scale
- A Spirit's size is permanently saved until it is rerolled or its Spirit data is cleared.
- Spirit size persists through:
- Death
- Logout
- Dimension changes
- Return by Death
- A Spirit that already has a saved height will not randomly change size again.
- Becoming a Spirit for the first time automatically generates a height.
Spirit Size Reroll
- Added
/rezero Spirit Size Reroll. - The command can reroll the current player's Spirit height or target another player.
- The new size is immediately applied.
- Only Spirits can have a Spirit size rerolled.
Spirit Pick-Up
- Spirits 1.10 blocks or shorter can now be physically picked up.
- The Spirit's contractor or allies can right-click the Spirit to carry them.
- Right-clicking again places the Spirit back down.
- A carried Spirit can sneak to jump off.
- Spirits taller than 1.10 blocks cannot be picked up.
- Players who are not authorized through the Spirit's alliance/contract relationship cannot pick them up.
Beatrice Pact
Time-Away Strain
- Beatrice's Artificial Great Spirit Pact now tracks how long the Spirit and contractor remain separated.
- Separation begins when they are:
- More than 50 blocks apart, or
- In different dimensions.
- A 10-minute grace period is provided before the new strain begins.
- After the grace period, both partners lose 20 live levels from:
- Magic
- Fortitude
- Combat
- Tenacity
- Strength
- Reflexes
- Another 20 live levels are removed every 10 seconds while the separation continues.
- Returning within 50 blocks immediately ends the separation timer.
- Returning within range restores the temporary levels lost from the time-away penalty.
- The Book of Life values themselves are never permanently overwritten.
Distance Penalty
- The existing 500-block distance penalty remains.
- The long-distance drain has been changed so that it affects only the Spirit.
- The contractor no longer loses levels simply because their Spirit is more than 500 blocks away.
- Past 500 blocks, the Spirit loses 25 live levels for every additional 20 blocks.
- Being in another dimension applies the existing maximum distance penalty.
- The distance penalty and time-away strain can occur at the same time.
- The Regeneration II effect within 50 blocks remains unchanged.
Pact Feedback
- Added clearer messages for:
- Beginning separation
- Time remaining before strain
- Distance drain
- Time-away strain
- Combined penalties
- Returning within range
- Restoration of lost levels
Gluttony Authority
Gluttony is now a full Authority system with three possible variants:
- Eclipse
- Overeating
- True Gluttony
The Witch Factor itself is a unique wandering entity that can exist as a wandering Factor, inside a Sage's Box, or within a current host.
Gluttony Compatibility
- Players and eligible mobs receive a Gluttony compatibility score from 0–1000.
- Compatibility determines how suitable a person or creature is for the Witch Factor.
- Compatibility can increase through certain Gluttony-related actions, including:
- Eating while already highly fed
- Eat Name
- Eat Memory
- A player's compatibility can be rerolled through the existing data reset system.
Compatibility Backlash
- Holding Gluttony does not automatically cause permanent drawbacks.
- Instead, using a Gluttony ability activates a temporary 10-second compatibility backlash window.
- Compatibility below 1000 can cause:
- Nausea
- Hunger II
- Blindness
- Periodic magic damage
- The lower the compatibility, the more severe the drawbacks become.
- Failed attempts that do not actually activate an ability do not trigger the backlash.
- True Gluttony being active and the Manage Servants interface being open continuously refresh the backlash window.
- At 1000 compatibility, the holder is completely immune to Gluttony's compatibility drawbacks.
- The duration can be configured.
Gluttony Witch Factor
Hunting
- Only one Gluttony Witch Factor can exist at a time.
- The Factor searches a large area for potential hosts.
- It scans up to 30 chunks when searching.
- It compares the compatibility of nearby players and eligible mobs.
- Players are normally preferred.
- A mob is selected instead when its compatibility is at least 100 higher than the best available player.
- When the Factor chooses a target, the target receives:
You feel a insatiable hunger approaching..
- When the Factor reaches approximately 5 blocks from its target, it grants Gluttony and disappears.
World Spawn
- During initial world generation, the first Gluttony host is an eligible mob located within 1000 blocks of overworld spawn.
- The wandering Witch Factor does not need to exist immediately; the initial host receives the Factor directly.
Host Death
- When a mob holding the Gluttony Factor dies, the Witch Factor reappears at its death location and begins hunting again.
- When a player holding the Factor dies normally, the Factor drops/reappears at their death location.
- The player keeps their Gluttony Authority but loses the unique Witch Factor.
- Return by Death and cancelled deaths do not cause the Factor to be dropped.
Mob Hosts
- Mobs that possess Gluttony can autonomously use their Authority.
- They can perform:
- Eat Name
- Eat Memory
- They prioritize appropriate nearby targets and use the same shared eating cooldown system.
Gluttony Variant System
- The Witch Factor can now randomly determine which Gluttony variant its host receives.
- Variant chances are controlled through weighted configuration.
- Default weights are:
- Eclipse: 50
- Overeating: 50
- True Gluttony: 0
- This means True Gluttony is command-only by default.
- Increasing its weight allows True Gluttony to appear naturally.
- Variant selection is used for Witch Factor hosts and relevant Witch Factor/Sage's Box interactions.
Eclipse
Eat Name
- Eclipse can consume the name of a valid target.
- The target's identity is affected according to the Gluttony system.
- Eclipse uses the same targeting, range, compatibility, and cooldown rules as the other Gluttony abilities.
Eat Memory
- Eclipse can consume the memories of a target.
- When used on a player, their Book of Life levels are reduced.
- A player's memories can be eaten multiple times, up to 3 times.
- Each successful player memory eat grants the Eclipse user:
- +25 temporary levels to every Hahueuh stat
- One player can therefore provide up to:
- +75 temporary levels
- Bonuses stack between different players.
- These bonuses persist through logout and normal death.
- Eating a mob does not provide the temporary stat bonus.
Eclipse Stun
- Successfully completing the required Name + Memory sequence can trigger the Gluttony stun.
- The final Memory is required before the stun activates, allowing the full three-memory cap to matter.
Eclipse Health Requirement
- Eat Name and Eat Memory can optionally require the target player to be at low health.
- Default configuration:
- Requirement enabled
- Maximum allowed health: 6 hearts
- A player at 6 hearts can be eaten.
- A player above 6 hearts cannot be eaten.
- Mobs are not affected by this player-only health requirement.
- The requirement can be disabled through configuration.
Overeating
Force Servitude
- Overeating can bind the targeted creature as a servant.
- Servants become linked to their master and can be controlled through the servant system.
- Hostile servants stop treating their master as an enemy.
- Bound hostile mobs will not attack their master through:
- Melee attacks
- Projectiles
- Their own explosions
- The master and servant relationship is enforced through the alliance system.
Manage Servants
- Added a dedicated servant management interface.
- The interface allows the master to:
- Select servants
- Set servants to Wander
- Set servants to Follow
- Adjust follow distance
- The ability HUD is hidden while the servant-management panel is open.
Player Servants
- A player servant following their master is forced back if they:
- Leave the configured follow range, or
- Change dimensions
- The player is teleported back near their master.
- Mob servants continue using normal follow/pathfinding behavior.
Servant Death
- If a servant player dies a real death while bound:
- The servitude ends
- The forced alliance is removed
- The servant disappears from the master's servant list
- Return by Death does not trigger the normal servant-death cleanup.
True Gluttony
True Gluttony is the third Gluttony variant and represents a much more direct form of devouring.
Toggle Form
- True Gluttony is a manually toggled state rather than a timed transformation.
- It remains active until the user turns it off.
- Turning it off normally begins its configured cooldown.
- The default cooldown in the current version is 0 seconds.
- Death, Return by Death, or losing the Authority turns the form off without imposing the normal untoggle cooldown.
Self-Devouring
- While True Gluttony is active, looking at a target causes the target to begin devouring themselves.
- The target receives Hunger III.
- A self-devour damage effect continuously drains health.
- Current damage is 20% of maximum HP per second.
- Damage is applied in frequent ticks rather than as one massive hit.
- The effect is designed to kill an unarmored 20-HP player in roughly 5 seconds.
- A single damage tick cannot kill a full-health target in one hit.
- Armor does not protect against this starvation-based damage.
Allies
- Allies are not automatically protected from True Gluttony's stare.
- The current configuration allows True Gluttony to hurt:
- Normal allies
- Forced allies
- Pact partners
- This behavior can be disabled through configuration.
Health Gate
- True Gluttony can optionally require the user to already be at low health before activating.
- Default:
- Health gate disabled
- Maximum configurable threshold of 6 hearts
- When enabled, the form cannot be activated while above the configured health threshold.
Gear Consumption
- Every 30 seconds, the current look-target has a 25% chance to have an item consumed.
- Only items being actively held can be consumed:
- Main hand
- Offhand
- Armor is not consumed.
- Dragon Sword Reid cannot be consumed.
Mabeast
True Gluttony's second major art is Mabeast.
Mabeast Binding
- The user can look at a living creature and bind it as a Mabeast.
- Mabeasts receive temporary stat bonuses and become associated with the Gluttony user.
Great Mabeasts
Certain monster families become Great Mabeasts, including:
- Zombies and related variants
- Skeletons and related variants
- Pigmen and related variants
Great Mabeasts receive:
- +400 temporary levels to every relevant Hahueuh stat by default
- A name in the format:
Great <Mob>
Normal Mabeasts
Other valid creatures become normal Mabeasts, including:
- Villagers
- Pillagers
- Players
- Wolves
- Animals
- Other compatible creatures
Normal Mabeasts receive:
- +100 temporary levels to every relevant Hahueuh stat by default
Both bonuses are configurable.
Mabeast Loyalty
- Mabeasts recognize all Gluttony holders as allies.
- They will not attack Gluttony holders.
- If a Gluttony user nearby is attacked, their Mabeasts can attack the aggressor.
- If a Gluttony user attacks someone, nearby Mabeasts can assist against that target.
Sage's Box Integration
- Gluttony's Witch Factor can interact with the Sage's Box using the same general system as other Authorities.
- The Factor can be:
- Trapped
- Forced onto a host
- Absorbed
- Released
- Releasing or transferring the Factor properly revokes previous ownership where required.
- The system prevents multiple copies of the Gluttony Witch Factor from being created.
Gluttony Configuration
Added expanded configuration support for Gluttony, including:
- Eclipse / Overeating / True Gluttony variant weights
- True Gluttony cooldown
- True Gluttony ally damage
- True Gluttony low-health requirement
- True Gluttony maximum activation health
- Great Mabeast stat bonus
- Normal Mabeast stat bonus
- Eclipse low-health eating requirement
- Eclipse maximum target hearts
- Eclipse Memory temporary stat bonus
- Maximum player Memory eats
- Compatibility backlash duration
- Eating range and cooldown
- Witch Factor hunting behavior
The Gluttony configuration is now accessible through the NeoForge in-game configuration system, with descriptions and tooltips for individual settings.
HUD & Controls
- Gluttony abilities are represented by their short text labels rather than the previous pixel-art ability icons.
- Labels include:
- NAME
- MEM
- SERVE
- MNG
- TRUE / ON
- BEAST
- The HUD updates to reflect True Gluttony's active state.
- Gluttony state synchronization between server and client has been improved.
- Opening Manage Servants properly hides the normal ability HUD.
Commands & Utility
- Added:
/rezero Spirit Size Reroll
- Existing Gluttony Authority commands support selecting and managing Gluttony variants.
- Added cooldown-reset functionality that can clear Gluttony ability states, including:
- Eat Name
- Eat Memory
- True Gluttony
- Mabeast
- Horn Activation can also be cleared through the same cooldown-reset system.
Data & Persistence
- Spirit size is saved to persistent player data.
- Spirit height survives death, logout, dimension changes, and Return by Death.
- Beatrice separation tracking persists correctly.
- Gluttony compatibility data persists between sessions.
- Gluttony Witch Factor ownership is tracked globally to prevent duplicate Factors.
- Offline Gluttony holders remain properly tracked.
- Gluttony state and relevant ability data are synchronized between client and server.
