- See an entity's quality without other mods: look at it for a nametag with its tier ("Cow Champion ★★★"), or instead sneak and right-click it with an empty hand to show it above the hotbar. Client config
entityQualityDisplaypicks NAMETAG (default), INSPECT or OFF.showQualityTooltipandhiddenTooltipTiersapply here too. - Tiers can set
particle_color: mobs and players of that tier sparkle in that colour now and then. Exquisite and masterwork ship with one. Client configshowEntityQualityParticlesturns them off. entity_qualitiesentries can settint: that mob or player is drawn in the colour, for example crude animals green or masterwork players gold. Nothing ships tinted.- Right-click a carried quality stack onto another of the same item to pour in what fits; tiers the target already holds go in first.
- Bred animals inherit quality from their parents: common config
breedInheritanceis AVERAGE (default; mean level, fraction rolled), HIGHEST, LOWEST or NONE. A parent without quality counts as level 0, and two plain parents have a plain baby.QualityBreedEventis posted for every bred baby so mods can decide the tier themselves. - Items with a quality show a small star in the tier's colour in the top-left of their slot, so you can tell tiers apart without hovering. Client config
showQualityMarkerturns it off; tiers inhiddenTooltipTiersget none. - Tooltips can show quality as stars: client config
qualityTooltipStyleis BOTH (tier name then stars, the default), SYMBOLS (stars only) or TEXT (name only). Stars go up by half a star per level: crude ½, standard 1, fine 1½ up to masterwork 3, in the tier's colour. "Crafted by" now has its own line under the quality.
