Description
Progressive Time Difficulty (PTD) - v1.1.7
Overview
Progressive Time Difficulty transforms the conventional survival experience into a dynamic challenge. Unlike other mods that apply global difficulty spikes, PTD scales based on each user's actual progress. The difficulty is calculated by combining the world's age with the specific playtime of nearby players.
This allows veterans to face a brutal challenge without preventing new players from joining the server and progressing at their own pace.
Server-Side Only: This mod is strictly server-side. It only needs to be installed on the server; players can join using a vanilla Minecraft client without installing the mod locally.
Key Features
1. "Soul Eater" - Hardcore Anti-Cheese Mechanic (NEW!)
- The Stronger You Are, The Harder They Hit: In Hardcore Mode, mobs now gain a "Soul Eater" buff if a nearby player has more than 20 max HP.
- Scaling Power: For every extra heart (2 HP) a player has, mobs gain a 5% "Soul Eater" factor, which massively boosts their damage (mostly magical) and slightly increases their health.
- Clear Indicators: Mobs empowered by Soul Eater emit Witch Particles and a Soul Escape sound, so you know when your own power is being used against you.
2. Visual Threat Indicators
- Know Your Enemy: Mobs emit particles based on their difficulty level, allowing you to assess the threat before engaging!
- Tier 1 (Smoke): Hardened Mob.
- Tier 2 (Flame): Dangerous Mob.
- Tier 3 (Soul Fire): Extreme Threat.
3. Quality of Life & Fixes
- Smarter "OVERCHARGED" Tag: The tag now only appears on mobs that are actively targeting a player, reducing screen clutter.
- Mod Compatibility: Added an explicit exclusion for EvilCraft's Vengeance Spirit to prevent unwanted buffs.
- Bug Fix: Fixed a compilation error related to mob targeting.
4. Hardcore Rebalance
- Slower Scaling: Hardcore difficulty increase rate is now 1.2% per day (down from 1.5%).
- Damage Restored: Hardcore damage multiplier is x2.5.
5. Creeper Exclusion
- No More Buffed Creepers: Creepers are explicitly excluded from all difficulty buffs to prevent unfair one-shots and mod conflicts.
6. Armor Protection
- Hybrid Damage: Physical damage scaling is capped at x5.0. Any damage exceeding the cap is applied as magic damage, preserving your armor's durability.
