A port of Presence Footsteps 1.12.0 for MC 1.20.4. Marked as a beta as the F10 settings menu is currently unimplemented. Edit the config file and restart the game instead. Aside from the in-game settings menu missing, this should be feature-complete and stable.

Uses Forge's new clientSideOnly feature to make it easy to do sided loading safely.
