Small Mod to put your precious ingots as piles into your world. Sneak & right-click with at least 8 ingots in hand. One Block can hold a stack of ingots.

Wrote my own loot_function for reliable drops from blocks.
Placement of ingots in world is much better.
Added some block tags (didn't add tags like needs_iron_tool - it only checks for pickaxe atm).
This mod has no additional files
