A lot of work has gone into developing the Ranger Points system to match my intended design, and that has included cleanups of other systems as well. While I have taken pains to test thoroughly, its very possible I've broken older behaviour and not noticed. If you find any bugs, let me know and I'll investigate. We have also had Pixelmon Reforged update to a 9.3.10 snapshot - I've tested with this new version, and everything appears compatible, but who knows if I've overlooked an edge case.

This new update adds 17 new NPC presets for creative mode players to use:

  • 3 DimSun Grunts
  • 2 DimSun Admins
  • 1 DimSun Leader
  • 3 fightable Rangers
  • 2 Ace Rangers
  • 2 Operators
  • 2 Students
  • 1 Mechanic
  • 1 Quartermaster (shopkeeper)

All DimSun NPCs award Ranger Points for defeating them. The fightable Rangers do not award any Ranger Points, and are basically normal trainer NPCs. The other Ranger related NPCs are all social NPCs, except for the Quartermaster who has special mechanics.
Ranger Quartermasters have a custom Shop allowing players to spend the Ranger Points they accumulate for equipment. Players can access a wider stock based on their Total Ranger Points score, which is separate to their Available Ranger Points (what is spent in the shop). The thresholds for players to access each tier - or even be considered an enemy of the Ranger Union - are able to be changed in the mod's Config.

Players with high reputation (Total Ranger Points) can even purchase new armours from the Quartermaster based on different Ranger uniform designs. The highest tier of armour is based on a redesigned look by artist LemonJelloArts, and has been used with their permission and input. This highest tier of armour also have special mechanical effects:

  • The Helmet grants hunger protection
  • The Chestplate grants increased swim speed
  • The Leggings grant 1 extra heart
  • The Boots grant jump boost

Fighting enraged Pixelmon now grant Ranger Points as intended. Players earn points for either capturing or defeating the Pixelmon based on the Pixelmon's level and a multiplier that can be set in the mod's Config (and this multiplier can be set to award penalties as well!)

Most of this new versions features require setup in creative mode to be effective, and while the mod has still been designed to load absent Pixelmon's installation (a personal challenge at this point), as always most of the functions are simply unavailable without Pixelmon being present.
