🏴☠️ Pirate, Revolutionary & Bandit Recruits – Leadership System
This mod introduces a multi-faction recruit system built around leadership, loyalty, and power. Command pirates through a formal crew hierarchy, or lead Revolutionaries and Bandits through raw strength and influence. Recruit NPCs, manage their behavior, store them safely, and equip or heal them using intuitive interactions and keybinds.
⚓ Pirates – Crew & Captain System
Pirates follow a structured hierarchy.
Becoming a Pirate Captain
To recruit pirates, you must be the captain of a crew.
Creating a crew unlocks pirate recruitment and grants a custom Captain Advancement, marking you as a true leader.
🍶 Recruiting Pirates (Sake System)
Pirate recruitment is performed through a loyalty ritual:
• Hold a FULL SAKE CUP
• Right-click a pirate with lower Doriki than you
• If successful, the pirate swears loyalty and joins your crewPirate recruitment requires:

Pirate faction
-
Higher Doriki
-
Crew captain status
Pirate Commands
Once recruited, use an EMPTY HAND to toggle:
• FOLLOW – follows and assists the captain
• IDLE – stays in place
✊ Revolutionaries – Influence-Based Recruitment
Revolutionaries follow a cell-based leadership model.
Recruiting Revolutionaries
• You do NOT need a crew or captain status
• You must be a Revolutionary
• Target must also be a Revolutionary NPC
• Your Doriki must be higherOnce recruited, Revolutionaries:

Follow your commands

Assist in combat
-
Obey FOLLOW / IDLE

Do not join pirate crews
They operate as a loyal cell, not a formal crew.
🗡️ Bandits – Strength-Only Leadership
Bandits follow the law of strength.
Recruiting Bandits
• You must be a Bandit
• Target must be another Bandit NPC
• No crew required
• No captain advancement
• Higher Doriki determines authorityBandits behave like Revolutionaries:

Full command, combat assist, and storage support
🥚 Storing Recruits (Recruit Egg System)
All factions can store recruits safely.
How to Store
• Shift + Right-click with an EMPTY HAND
• Repeat 5 times on the same recruitThe recruit is converted into a Recruit Egg.
Using the Egg
• Right-click a block to respawn the recruit
• Ownership and faction data are preservedUseful for:

Long-distance travel

Preventing accidental deaths

Temporary storage during downtime
🎮 Keybind-Based Recruit Interaction
The mod adds keybinds for advanced control.
(Check Controls / Keybind Settings.)🛡️ Equipping Recruits
• Hold armor or weapons
• Use the Recruit Equip keybind
• The recruit equips the item instantly🍖 Feeding & Healing
• Hold food
• Use the Feed Recruit keybind
• The recruit consumes the item and healsWorks for Pirates, Revolutionaries, and Bandits.
🏆 Captain Advancement (Pirates Only)
Creating a pirate crew grants a custom Captain Advancement, displayed in its own tab.
This advancement marks progression into pirate leadership gameplay.(Revolutionaries and Bandits do not use advancements.)
⚠️ Known Issues & Limitations
Weapon Type Lock
Recruits may break if weapon categories are mixed.
If they spawn with:

Swords → keep swords
-
Fists → stay unarmed
-
Guns → use guns only
Combat State Bug
Storing a recruit during combat may break their AI.
Avoid storing recruits while actively fighting.
These are known engine limitations and may be addressed in future updates.
