PCI Mini (Stable Alpha)

PCI Mini is a technology-focused Minecraft mod that builds a complete in-world computer platform: power networks, computer hardware, SSD-based storage, server-linked systems, and a desktop-style operating environment (McOS).

This is not a small set of isolated blocks.
PCI Mini is designed as one connected ecosystem where energy, devices, storage, and GUI logic work together.

What PCI Mini Provides

1) Computer Core Ecosystem

  • The Computer Core is the central system node.
  • Desktop logic, hardware state checks, and peripheral requirements are integrated.
  • Full functionality depends on valid power + connected input devices.

2) McOS Desktop Environment

  • Desktop-style UI with taskbar, start menu, and multi-window apps.
  • Includes My Computer, My Inventory, server windows, and app panels.
  • Desktop/server icon visibility follows connection state logic (LAN/MiFi/server powered state).

3) Theme System (PC OS Themes)

  • Built-in theme set: Silver, Blue, Green, Pink, Lime.
  • Theme selection integrated into Settings GUI.
  • Missing theme files are auto-generated in config.
  • Theme loading path uses the active GUI config directory.

4) SSD Storage System (Tier Progression)

  • SSD tiers:
    • T1 4GB
    • T2 16GB
    • T3 64GB
    • T4 256GB
    • T5 1TB
  • Storage model: 10 KB = 1 item unit.
  • Disk-style addressing (C:, D:, …), folder paths, and persistent disk data.
  • Virtual storage supports large counts beyond vanilla stack limits.

5) Drive Identity Stability

  • Storage mapping uses SSD identity metadata (not only drive letter/index).
  • If drive order/letter changes, files remain mapped to the correct disk.
  • Added Reindex workflow support for storage recovery and path normalization.

6) File / Folder Workflow (My Computer + Server Windows)

  • Unified storage behavior across:
    • My Computer
    • LAN Server
    • MiFi Server
  • Supports:
    • create folder
    • rename/delete folder
    • folder info
    • cut/paste folder and items
    • send to inventory / send to disk flows
  • Folder context menu behavior refined and rendered above other windows for reliable interaction.
  • Folder icon customization supported (item-based icon badge in folder UI).

7) Inventory-Style Item Interaction

  • Storage item interaction aligned with inventory logic:
    • LMB/RMB/Shift combinations for stack handling
    • carried-item flow for placing/moving items
  • Controlled extraction with amount dialogs where applicable.

8) Detailed Tooltip System

  • Expanded tooltips in storage/inventory views:
    • item ID
    • namespace/path
    • count/max
    • durability (if relevant)
    • display name
    • per-item size + total size
    • slot/debug info
  • SSD tooltips include used/free capacity visibility.

9) Server-Linked Storage Platform

  • Server blocks provide SSD-backed storage expansion.
  • McOS integration for LAN/MiFi server storage browsing and management.
  • Capacity and visibility logic cleaned up for consistent disk listing.

10) Harvester Routing to Server Storage

  • Harvester output is configurable by:
    • Seeds drive/path
    • Produce drive/path
  • Path target defaults to root and can be changed from monitor UI.
  • If selected drive becomes invalid, output aligns to available server drives automatically.
  • Folder/path candidate selection is tied to server storage folders.

11) Power Network and Mini-FE Standards

  • Unified energy display in m-FE.
  • Cable/adapter side modes with wrench control:
    • Input
    • Output
    • Off
  • Directional transfer follows network routing behavior, not only adjacency.

12) Modular Power + Device Expansion

  • Modular power frame and multi-block energy workflows integrated with system logic.
  • Battery/device tiers and power usage balancing continue to be tuned in active development.

Gameplay Impact

PCI Mini adds a full systems layer to survival and tech-base gameplay:

  • plan energy routing
  • scale storage architecture
  • manage disk structures
  • operate through desktop workflows
  • connect automation devices (including server-routed harvest outputs)

It fits automation-heavy worlds, roleplay infrastructure builds, and long-term technical progression.


Project Status

Stable Alpha
Core systems are now significantly more stable, but development is ongoing and features continue to expand.

This is still an alpha-stage mod branch.
Use a separate test instance and keep world backups before major updates.
