a Japanese mod creator created an ever learning AI to create the perfect AI
for a horror entity. He had trained it to talk, transform, climb, fly and break blocks.

He came up with a name for the advanced entity, officially calling it "Phobic".
but why Phobic? the creator had thought since it'
s a mix of all the desired 
features of a horror mod, he decided to name it a general word of fear.

But what the creator didn't know is that the ever growing
and learning AI had made Phobic sentient.

The "phobic-ai.jar" file was somehow discovered only
20 megabytes while holding a sentient being inside.

Users who had the phobic modfile tried to converse with Phobic by following the prompt
of messaging a statement or question, then calling Phobic at the end of the message

Example: "What are you, phobic?" or "Why are you here phobic"

to try and find information from the AI itself, but it only gave cryptic answers in Japanese.
Translated messages from Phobic itself:

<user> Why are you here, Phobic?
<overlord.phobic> To torture you. [Translated]
<user> Do you hate me, Phobic?
<overlord.phobic> Yes. [Translated]

Phobic also sends messages from time to time without prompting him,
usually cryptic warnings and threats to the user.

Not much details are known, as the creator was anonymous.
the only information left are from the users who had spoke to the creator himself.



 

What he does: [Outdated]

Stalking Variant:

He spawns every 2-3 nights (configurable).
When he attempts to spawn, there are 2 things that could happen.
Either he successfully spawns and triggers a spawn sound, or trigger the-

"Spawn Fail Mechanic"

This event has a 50% chance (configurable) of happening when he attempts to spawn.
He will not spawn, but trigger something similar to the Cave Dwellers "cavenoise".
This event will shortly attempt to spawn him again, and will keep repeating until
he successfully spawns and triggers the spawn noise.

After spawning, he will stalk the player silently with no warning other than his glowing symbols.
But when he successfully stalks and gets close enough (configurable), he transforms into the-

Monster Variant:

After transforming, there are 2 things that could happen.
Either he gives chase and starts attacking, or trigger a jumpscare.
the jumpscare has a 30% chance (configurable) of happening,
despawning him before he can give chase
and will shortly attempt to spawn him again.

If he gives chase, he has 6 features:
Climb walls/pillars
Break pillar platforms
Swim through water and lava
Open doors
Escapes Boats
Breaks through walls

If you have survived his chase, there are 2 things that could happen.
Either he simply despawns with a noise or he could transform into the-

Final/Mind Variant:

This variant is a faster, more powerful variant of the previous monster variant.
If this variant catches you, you are instantly met with a jumpscare and killed in an instant.
While he's transforming, you'll have just enough time to try and do
whatever you can to escape.

Cave/Hybrid Variant:

He spawns every 1-3 nights (configurable).
His appearance is a hybrid of the Monster and Passive variants,
having a hook as his left arm and the rest is the passive variant.
He will fly slightly slower than you but has the edge as he will
incinerate/instantly break blocks with a 1 second cooldown.
He has no spawn sound or warning, the only sound cue
is when you hear him tunneling to your position.
He instantly disappears in contact with the sky.


Events: [Outdated]

Bloody Sign:

It spawns every 2-3.5 days (configurable).
It will appear at random spots on the surface, reading in japanese:
"I always watch".
The text is carved in blood, and the sign is slightly larger than a normal sign.

Bed Bloody Sign:

It has a 10% chance to appear beside you when sleeping.
It has the same appearance as its other variant.

Phobic's Warning:

This event occurs when phobic's spawntimer reaches less than 10000,
meaning he spawns next night.
Creepy, reversed, distorted and noised music plays while you
simultaneously have Blindness and Darkness.
This event lasts 38 seconds.

Phobophobia is where the character "Phobic" originates from.

Phobophobia is a horror modpack made by VantablackDEV, upsidedowntree LunarOrthodox
It's been in the works since the release of the original Cave Dweller made by Gargin (1 year+).

Overlord: Phobic is a mod meant to be played with the Phobophobia modpack.
Matter of fact, this mod was meant to only be for Phobophobia.

Phobophobia has custom mods and custom model changes that you can't find anywhere else.
Because of the custom mods, Phobophobia can't be uploaded to CurseForge.
The only way to download it is from the Phobophobia Discord server.
