Description
Vulkan Upscaler Mod
DLSS 3.7 & FSR 3.1 for Minecraft
The Vulkan Upscaler Mod leverages Minecraft's new experimental Vulkan renderer backend to introduce industry-leading upscaling and frame generation technologies. Enjoy ultimate smoothness and stunning performance without ever compromising the sharpness of your user interface!
Key Features
- NVIDIA DLSS 3.7: Native integration of Super Resolution and Frame Generation. Multiply your framerate if you own a compatible RTX graphics card.
- AMD FSR 3.1: Full support for FidelityFX Super Resolution and frame generation, offering massive performance gains across a wide range of hardware (AMD, NVIDIA, and Intel).
- Pristine Interface (HUD): Unlike standard resolution scaling, this upscaler intercepts the 3D world render output exclusively. Your hotbar, inventory, menus, and text are rendered over it at your pure native resolution for absolute clarity.
- On-the-fly Configuration: Simply press the
Ukey in-game to instantly open the Upscaler Configuration Menu. Tweak sharpness, swap upscaling modes, and toggle frame generation in real-time.
System Requirements
To ensure the mod runs correctly, your system must meet the following criteria:
| Component | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Minecraft | >= 26.2 (Must be a Snapshot/Alpha containing the Vulkan backend) |
| Mod Loader | Fabric Loader >= 0.18.x + Fabric API |
| Operating System | Windows 10/11 64-bit |
| DLSS Hardware | NVIDIA RTX 20-series or higher (RTX 40-series required for DLSS Frame Gen) |
| FSR Hardware | NVIDIA RTX 20-series+, AMD RX 5000-series+, or modern Intel Arc |
Note: Linux support is currently in development and will arrive in a future update!
Installation Guide
We designed the installation to be completely "Plug & Play". The required native runtime is bundled directly inside the mod.
- Download the latest
vulkan-upscaler.jarfile. - Drop the file into your
.minecraft/modsfolder. - Important: Make sure you also install YACL (Yet Another Config Lib) to access the settings menu.
- Launch the game! The mod will automatically extract the necessary native resources on its first launch.
You can monitor the upscaler's runtime state and fallback messages directly in-game via the F3 debug screen.
Roadmap
Thanks to our hybrid JNI Bridge architecture, the mod is built to scale. Here is what we are working on next:
- Native Linux Support: Production support validation and proper native artifact packaging.
- Ray Tracing / Path Tracing: The central extension point is already in place. Once the Minecraft Vulkan backend stabilizes, the mod is structurally ready to support RT/PT capabilities!
