What's new

OREBOUND Core 0.1.2

A major progression, compatibility, and quality-of-life update for OREBOUND's mining systems.

Prospecting Improvements

  • Standardized controls across OREBOUND prospecting equipment.
  • Shift + Right Click now opens resource/target selection.
  • Right Click performs the normal scan or survey.
  • Ore Scanner and Geological Surveyor now search the generated Seam registry instead of relying on small fixed scan radiuses.
  • Scanners lock onto an undiscovered deposit instead of constantly changing targets.
  • Geological Surveyor signals now remain visible until another survey is performed.
  • Improved direction, distance, and Y-level readouts.

Resource Seam Relocation

Added full compatibility with Mekanism Cardboard Boxes.

  • Resource Seams can now be safely packaged and relocated.
  • Seam identity is preserved during transport.
  • Resource type, grade, discovery status, custom name, and site identity remain intact.
  • Old Miner claims are safely cleared when a Seam is moved.
  • Boxed Seams are temporarily removed from the active prospecting registry to prevent ghost deposits.

Resource Seams remain normally unbreakable.

Crushing Hammer

Added the new Crushing Hammer for early material progression.

The Crushing Hammer can convert common stone materials into Gravel:

  • Stone
  • Cobblestone
  • Andesite
  • Diorite
  • Granite
  • Tuff
  • Calcite
  • Cobbled Deepslate

Stone Material → Gravel

Breaking Gravel with the Crushing Hammer produces:

Gravel → Sand + Guaranteed Flint

The Crushing Hammer has 256 durability.

Miner Input & Output Configuration

All six OREBOUND Miners now support explicit side configuration.

Each side can be set to:

Disabled → Input → Output

Input Sides

  • Accept Mechanical Miner fuel.
  • Accept Miner upgrades.
  • Accept FE on powered Miners.

Output Sides

  • Allow mined materials to be extracted.
  • Support automatic item pushing.

Default configuration:

  • Front: Disabled
  • Back: Output
  • Left: Input
  • Right: Input
  • Top: Input
  • Bottom: Input

The front mining face is excluded from the All Inputs and All Outputs presets to help prevent pipes from accidentally blocking the Miner's line of sight to its Seam.

Existing Miners automatically migrate to the new system while preserving their previous output configuration.

Mining & Harvesting Fixes

Fixed several inconsistencies between OREBOUND Mining Power and Minecraft's normal harvesting system.

  • Fixed Compact Stone breaking without dropping.
  • Added proper pickaxe mining tags to collectible OREBOUND blocks.
  • Corrected harvesting support across OREBOUND geology, machinery, and structure blocks.
  • Resource Seams, Origin Marker, and World Core Deposit remain intentionally protected.

Mining Power Integration

Improved Mining Power consistency across naturally generated resources.

Mining Power 2

Now correctly includes:

  • Redstone Ore
  • Deepslate Redstone Ore
  • Lapis Ore
  • Deepslate Lapis Ore

Mining Power 4

Now correctly includes:

  • Deepstone
  • Diamond Ore
  • Deepslate Diamond Ore
  • Emerald Ore
  • Deepslate Emerald Ore
  • Mekanism Fluorite Ore
  • Mekanism Deepslate Fluorite Ore

This keeps natural resource blocks consistent with their intended OREBOUND geological tier.

Miner Reliability

  • Fixed high-tier Miner Seam-claim integration.
  • Reinforced Miner and Core Miner are now correctly recognized by Seam claim persistence.
  • Prevented active high-tier Miner claims from being incorrectly treated as abandoned.
  • Improved old-save migration for Miner side configuration.
  • Restored missing Reinforced/Core Miner telemetry source integration.

Growth Chamber Changes

The starting Growth Chamber no longer generates with pre-planted crops.

Instead, the farm begins with:

  • Hydrated farmland
  • Water
  • Permanent room lighting
  • Empty planting space

Starter farming supplies are placed inside the Growth Chamber barrel:

  • 8 Bread
  • 32 Wheat
  • 32 Wheat Seeds
  • 8 Carrots
  • 8 Potatoes
  • 4 Oak Saplings
  • 16 Torches

This avoids modded crop-survival issues during world initialization while still giving players everything needed to begin farming immediately.

Mekanism Sawdust Recipe

Added an easy early-game sawdust recipe:

1 Any Log → 4 Mekanism Sawdust

This provides exactly enough sawdust for one Mekanism Cardboard Box.

Integration & Stability

  • Improved OREBOUND/Mekanism compatibility.
  • Improved Seam registry persistence.
  • Improved Miner claim handling.
  • Improved prospecting persistence.
  • Added additional safe world migrations.
  • Updated Field Manual documentation.
  • Updated internal tags and progression integration.
  • Completed additional mining and material integration audits.

This release significantly strengthens OREBOUND's core mining loop while making automation, prospecting, and early progression easier to understand and more reliable.
