Description
Not Enough Tints (NET)
Not Enough Tints is an ambitious building mod that lets you recolor almost any block both vanilla AND modded with custom RGB values using the Tinting Table and Master Tint.
(This mod does not recolor textures, it adds a tint to blocks)
Don't belive it works, especially with modded blocks? See for yourself:

What it can do
- Tint nearly all vanilla blocks
- Works with almost all modded blocks
- Keeps all blocks functional
- Custom RGB color selection
- Multiple tint styles

Yes, the UI changes colors. Isn't that so cool?
Does this truly work on ALL blocks?
Pretty much! About 99% of blocks. Sure, some blocks such as chests and beds are not currently supported properly because they use more specialized rendering and block behavior than normal blocks, but the rest? It's fair game. And what happens if a block isn't supported? It won't break it! It just won't apply a tint, but this is very rare.
Modded block support
The mod also works with nearly all modded blocks, especially ones that use more standard Minecraft-style models and rendering.
However, some modded blocks may not tint correctly, or may fall back to more limited behavior, if they use:
- custom renderers
- highly specialized model systems
In other words, the more a block behaves like a normal Minecraft block, the more likely it is to work well.
Important compatibility note
This mod is a major technical achievement, but it is also pushing against how Minecraft’s rendering system was originally meant to work.
Because of that, you should not expect it to work perfectly if you simply drop it into a huge modern modpack with lots of changes (looking at you ATM10). However, as more modpack developers become aware of this mod, I have hope they will work with it and not against it! Meanwhile, let the builders rejoice!
Not anymore! As of v1.0.1 it now works with most if not all big modpacks! The problem was with Modernfix, but I fixed it (see what I did there).
Best use case
Not Enough Tints shines most in builder-focused setups where the mod is being used intentionally as part of the building experience.
The more mod authors, pack makers, and builders create with this kind of recoloring system in mind, the better the results can be. In the right environment, it can be an incredible tool for custom palettes, themed builds, stylized worlds, and builds that would be impossible with normal block choices alone.
Why this mod is special
Minecraft was never built to let players freely tint almost every block in the game. Making something like this possible across vanilla and modded content is extremely difficult, especially while trying to preserve the feel of the original block instead of replacing it with a fake copy.
Not Enough Tints is an experimental but powerful step toward a future where builders have more creative freedom than vanilla ever allowed.
How the hell did I even make this?
Great question! If this project grows, I will consider making it open source. For now though, enjoy! Drop by my Discord server if you want to suggest or report any bugs.
