Nightmare Mod — v1.1.0 Changelog

Shadow behaviour

  • Shadow now breaks through doors instead of opening them — smashes any wooden or iron door blocking its path
  • Shadow wades through water without being slowed or pushed by currents
  • Ash particle trail follows the Shadow while it is moving
  • Shadow memory — remembers the last known player position for 30 seconds after losing sight and navigates toward it before giving up the search
  • Shadow teleports to a sleeping player's bed and sends them a warning message

Nightmare mode

  • Activation warning — the moment /gamerule nightmare true is set, all players receive a dramatic broadcast and a Warden ambient sound plays
  • Custom kill message — when the Shadow kills a player, a unique message is sent to the entire server
  • Per-player shadow (multiplayer) — each player now has their own Shadow assigned to them; victory only triggers when every Shadow in the world has been defeated

Config file

  • New server config at config/nightmare-server.toml generated on first run
  • Configurable values: Shadow respawn timer, minimum and maximum teleport distance, heartbeat sound range, Darkness effect range
