What's new

Changelog

New Features

  • Added official JEI support! JEI can now detect and display all Alloy, Crusher, and Tanning Rack recipes, both when viewing an item's uses, or looking at how it is obtained.
  • Added Panels! Crafted with 3 of their respective block in a vertical line. These act as a sort of combination between vertical Slabs and Stairs. Panels exist for every type of Slab, and Stone Panels use the top texture of Stone Slabs on all sides, making those 6-sided Smooth Stone Slab blocks finally obtainable in survival.
  • Panels can be placed facing in all 4 horizontal directions. Panels prioritize what face they were placed on when determining which way to face -- ie, if you place one on the south face of a block, the Panel will attach to that face, no matter what angle the player is facing.
  • If placed on the top or bottom of a block, the Panel then faces the direction that the player is facing.
  • Panels can connect to adjacent Panels to form inner and outer corners, similarly to Stairs.
  • Panels can form into Double-Panels just like Slabs, which drop 2 Panels when broken.
  • Added Horse Hide, Pig Skin, Wolf Hide, and Polar Bear Pelts. Each is dropped from their respective mob, and can be tanned into Leather.
  • Added Tannics -- a new item used for tanning. Crafted with a Glass Bottle and nearly any combination of natural item ingredients. The quality and quantity of ingredients will result in different qualities of Tannic -- they can either be Poor, standard, or Fine.
  • Added Sawdust. Currently obtained by crushing Sticks, but this will change in an upcoming update. Only used for Tannics at the moment.
  • Implemented Tanning Racks! Crafted with 6 Planks, 2 Sticks, and a Rope. Used for all Tanning recipes, as well as crafting Jerky.
  • Tanning Racks can be right-clicked with any item to place it on the Rack. Placed items will render on the Rack itself at a much larger scale than in an Item Frame, making them great for displaying Weapons, etc.
  • Placing any animal Hide, Flesh, or Rotten Flesh on a Tanning Rack, then right-clicking it with Salt will slowly turn it into a Cured Hide.
  • Once the Hide has cured, right-clicking it with any Dagger will instantly turn it into a Scudded Hide. Each Hide has a different base quality:
    • Rotten Flesh produces a Poorly Scudded Hide by default.
    • Rabbit Hide and Flesh produce a Small Scudded Hide by default.
    • Cow Hide and Pig Skin produce a normal Scudded Hide by default.
    • Horse Hide, Wolf Hide, and Polar Bear Pelts produce a Large Scudded Hide by default.
  • Despite the base quality of each Hide, the type of Dagger used can also increase or decrease its quality.
    • Using a Wooden/Golden Dagger will reduce the quality by 2 tiers.
    • Using a Stone/Copper Dagger will reduce the quality by 1 tier.
    • Using a Diamond Dagger will increase the quality by 1 tier.
    • Using a Titanium Dagger will increase the quality by 2 tiers.
    • Any other type of Dagger will result in the default quality of Scudded Hide produced by the given Hide item.
    • Polar Bear Pelts result in Large Scudded Hides no matter what Dagger is used.
  • Once Scudded, the Hide must be right-clicked with a bottle of Tannic and left in the sun while it tans. Tannic comes in three qualities, which can further affect the quality of the Leather.
    • Poor Tannic will reduce the quality by 1 tier.
    • Standard Tannic will keep the quality the same.
    • Fine Tannic will increase the quality by 1 tier.
  • After having the Tannic applied and sitting in the sun for 60 seconds, the Scudded Hide will turn into useable Leather, which can then be removed from the Tanning Rack by right-clicking it.
  • Tanning Racks can also be used to create Jerky -- placing any raw meat or raw fish on the Rack and right-clicking it with Salt, then leaving it in the sun for 30 seconds will turn it into a piece of Jerky. Jerky restores less hunger than its cooked counterparts, but restores much more saturation, making it great for regenerating health quickly while in combat.
  • Re-added Backpacks and Satchels from M4! Both are used as a means of portable storage, and their inventories can be opened by right-clicking while holding the item. Backpacks have 2 rows of space and are crafted with 8 Fine Leather and a Gold Nugget, while Satchels have 1 row of inventory space and are crafted with 8 Leather and an Iron Ingot.
  • Added Copper and Gold Plating. Currently only used for crafting Plates.
  • Re-added Plates from waaay back in M3! Players can right-click any food item onto a plate to place it, serving as decorative food storage.
  • Right-clicking a Plate while hungry will instantly consume any food on the plate.
  • Unlike M3's Plates, M5's plates come in 6 decorative varieties -- Woven, Slate, Copper, Bronze, Steel, and Gold. Woven Plates are crafted with 4 Grass Fibers, Slate Plates are crafted with 3 Slate and a Slate Brick Slab, and metal Plates are crafted with 3 of their respective Ingot and one of their respective Plating.
  • Another upgrade from M3 is that items placed on Plates will sit flat on the plate, and also face the direction the player was facing when placing the item.
  • Added 6 new Potion effects: Infected, Hydrophobia, Climbing, Restoration, Harmony, and Aggression.
  • Infected causes affected mobs and players to replace any Grass they walk on with Mycelium, spreading Mushrooms, Glowshrooms, and Infected Mushrooms as they go. Infected entities also regenerate health while standing on Mycelium, making it useful for combat but potentially destructive to the landscape.
  • Hydrophobia causes affected entities to take damage while in Water. The amount of damage increases per potion level.
  • Climbing allows players and mobs to climb any vertical surface as if it were a ladder. This does not slow their falling, however, should they decide to descend.
  • Restoration instantly restores passive entities and players to full health and removes any harmful potion effects ailing them, while instantly killing any hostile mobs it afflicts.
  • Harmony prevents affected players from taking damage from or damaging other players. Hostile mobs affected by the Harmony effect will become neutral mobs, not attacking the player unless provoked, and passive mobs under the effect will follow nearby players as if they were holding Wheat, Seeds, etc.
  • Aggression causes hostile and neutral mobs to attack any nearby target without provocation. Passive mobs will avoid affected mobs and players, and affected passive mobs will run frantically for the duration of the effect.
  • Added Sheep Hooves. Dropped rarely by Sheep. Can be brewed into a Mundane Potion to produce a Potion of Harmony.
  • Added Spider Legs. Dropped rarely by Spiders and Cave Spiders. Can be brewed into a Mundane Potion to produce a Potion of Climbing.
  • Added Effervexcense. Dropped commonly by Vexes (the little blue gremlins those wizard villagers in the mansions summon). Can be brewed into any Potion of Healing to produce a Potion of Restoration.
  • Added Infected Mushrooms! Generate in clusters on Mushroom Islands. When stepped on, they inflict any nearby entities with Infection and Nausea for 45 seconds and emit a particle effect. Since Infected entities have a chance to spawn another Infected Mushroom each time they step on a Grass block, one Infected shroom can spread into a colony if left unattended.
  • Added a ton of missing Crusher recipes.
  • Added new advancement: Fine Dining and Breathing. Achieved by obtaining every type of dinnerware.
  • Added new advancement: A Nice Rack. Achieved by obtaining a Tanning Rack.
  • Added new advancement: What a Jerk!. Achieved by obtaining Jerky.
  • Added new advancement: A Rockin' Tan. Achieved by producing a piece of Fine Leather.
  • Added new advancement: Too Many Items. Achieved by crafting a Backpack.

Changes

  • Renamed and retextured Vanilla Leather to Cow Hide. It has been replaced in all recipes by Minestrapp's Leather.
  • Fermented Spider Eyes can now be added to Potions of Water Breathing to produce a Potion of Water Aversion.
  • Fermented Spider Eyes can now be added to Potions of Harmony to produce a Potion of Angst.
  • In addition to producing block particles while active, Crushers now also display the item they are crushing inside their block model! They will also show the crushing output if the input slot is empty, so you can tell when they've finished.
  • Berry Bushes now generate based on Forge biome categories, rather than specific biomes. This means they should generate in modded biomes (Biomes o Plenty, etc), but it may slightly alter the biomes in which each type generates.
  • Improved Satchel texture from what it was in M4.
  • Modified The Absolute Madmason advancement to include all the new stone Panel types.
  • Rope can now be used as fuel.
