Description
Loot Lens is a Quality of Life utility mod that helps players discover mob drops directly in-game.
Instead of checking wikis, digging through loot tables, or guessing what a modded creature can drop, Loot Lens lets you analyze mobs by simply looking at them. Once a mob has been analyzed, it is saved inside the Loot Lens Journal, where you can search, filter, and review its possible drops at any time.
Loot Lens is especially useful in large modpacks with many vanilla and modded mobs, where keeping track of drops can quickly become difficult.
The mod is designed to stay clean and non-intrusive: drops are not spammed on-screen after every scan. Instead, analyzed mobs are saved in the journal so you can check them when you actually need the information.

How It Works
When you aim at a mob that has not been analyzed yet, Loot Lens automatically starts scanning it.
A progress bar appears on-screen while the analysis is running. Once the scan is complete, the mob is added to your Loot Lens Journal and a short “Analyzed” message confirms the result.
After a mob has been analyzed, Loot Lens will no longer display the analysis interface for that same mob type. This keeps your screen clean and avoids unnecessary UI clutter during gameplay.
Loot Lens does not instantly show all drops directly on-screen after every scan. Instead, it stores the information in the journal, where it can be checked later in a cleaner and more useful way.
Loot Lens Journal
The Loot Lens Journal is where all analyzed mobs are stored.
You can open it with the Loot Lens Guide item or by pressing the default keybind J.
Inside the journal, you can:
- View all mobs you have analyzed
- Search for a specific mob
- Filter mobs by:
- All
- Vanilla
- Modded
- Check possible drops
- See item icons, estimated chances, and min/max quantities
This makes Loot Lens very useful for exploration, progression, farming, and modpack discovery.
Modpack Compatibility
Loot Lens is built with modpacks in mind.
It works with vanilla mobs and modded mobs as long as their drops are handled through standard Minecraft/NeoForge loot tables.
This means Loot Lens can be useful in survival, RPG, adventure, exploration, and progression-based modpacks where players need to discover what mobs can drop without relying on external websites.
The mod has no external library dependency.
