Longwings for Fabric requires the Fabric API mod!

 

Welcome to Longwings, a Minecraft mod that introduces Butterflies and Moths into your world!

This is the first version of this mod, so there's a lot to cover in the changelog

+Added Butterfly Mob

A passive mob that can be found spawning across all overworld biomes (even modded ones!)

There are 52 variants of Butterflies inspired by real-life counterparts, with each variant having it's own Rarity, Size, and Habitat properties

Can boost crop growth when flown over

Can be fed with Sugar-Water, supplied through a Butterfly Feeder

Can be caught in item form when caught with a Catching Net

 

+Added Moth Mob

A passive mob that can also be found spawning across the overworld (modded biomes too!)

Moths come in 18 variants as of this version, with each variant also having Rarity, Size, and Habitat properties

Can also boost crop growth

Can also be fed with Sugar-Water

Can be caught in item form when caught with a Catching Net

Crafted with 2 String and 2 Sticks

Can be used to catch Butterflies/Moths into item form

Has durability and will break over time

 

+Added Butterfly & Moth Handbook Item

Opens an interactive GUI when right-clicked

Contains information about every Butterfly and Moth species in this mod!

Tracks the Butterflies/Moths you catch by filling up your Atlas

Has a bookmark function to save your page when you next open it

You can combine or duplicate a Handbooks information by combining 2 Handbooks in a crafting table!

 

+Added Sweet Berry Butterfly Brew

Crafted with 1 Water Bottle, 1 Sugar, and 1 Sweet Berries

Butterfly Brew is a type of Butterfly Lure that can be used in a Drip-Lure block to lure Butterflies/Moths to your location

Different Brew types increase your chances of attracting different Butterfly/Moth species

Butterfly Brew have a capacity of 2 (with Drip-Lures holding a capacity of 9)

Crafted with 1 Water Bottle, 1 Sugar, and 1 Apple

 

+Added Melon Butterfly Brew

Crafted with 1 Water Bottle, 1 Sugar, and 1 Melon

 

 

 

+Added Sugar-Water Bowl

Crafted with a Bowl, a Water Bottle, and Sugar!

Can be used to feed Butterflies and Moths through a Butterly Feeder block!

 

+Added Netting Block

A decorative block to complement Butterfly enclosures

Crafted with 9 String

 

+Added Butterfly Feeder

Can be filled with Sugar-Water to feed nearby Butterflies

Fed Butterflies will trust nearby players and gain extra health to prevent taking accidental lethal damage

Crafted with 1 bowl and 1 dirt block

 

+Added Butterfly Drip-Lure

A block that can be filled with Butterfly Brew to Lure Butterfly and Moth species to your location!

Filled Drip-Lures will empty on their own over time 1 level at a time, with a capacity of 9 levels

Drip-Lures will not lure 100% of the time

Crafted with 5 Copper Ingots and 3 Glass

+Added Grace of the Butterflies Effect

A bonus that gives players the ability to jump 5 blocks tall when applied, + slow falling and absorption, designed to assist in early-game building!

Can be obtained by drinking a Sugar-Water bowl to achieve "Butterfly Harmony" around 10 or more Butterflies/Moths

 

+Added Seed Sniffer Effect

A bonus that gives players the ability to dig out flower seeds themselves by breaking dirt blocks or grass blocks while having the effect applied

Can be obtained by drinking a Sugar-Water bowl to achieve "Butterfly Harmony" around 10 or more Moths
