What is in it

• Three guides: a glowing trail, a fairy light and a top-of-screen arrow. Tick any combination.
• Your guide: one screen to choose the guides, with a live preview of all three. It has four Quick looks, five trail styles, four palettes, Rainbow and custom colours picked on a colour wheel.
• More options: every screen shows simple choices first. A More options toggle shows the details, and Lodestar remembers it. The screens use the game's own menu background, like its Options screen.
• Places: save places with a name, a Minecraft item icon and an optional colour. Guide to one, edit it, or add it to a journey.
• Home and return point: Go home, Set home here, and a return point you can mark and guide back to.
• Journeys: guide through several stops in order. Reorder, skip, save, reverse, loop, and share with a code that shows a preview before it is imported.
• Retrace my steps: Lodestar records your outings on your computer. Retrace the latest one or pick an earlier one from My outings. Recording can be paused.
• Portals: connections are learned when you travel through them, and a destination in another dimension then guides you to the learned portal first.
• Quick guide: hold the Hold for quick guide key for a wheel of quick guide actions.
• Map mods (optional): Guide with Lodestar in JourneyMap, and in Xaero's Minimap and World Map, where that map mod is made for your loader and game version.
• Reduced motion steadies the fairy and the decorative effects.
• Every control has a tooltip, and the screens work with the keyboard and the narrator.

Install

Put the file for your loader and game version in your client's mods folder. A server does not need it.

Limits

Lodestar is a direction guide, not a pathfinder. It uses loaded terrain, and the trail can leave gaps at cliffs, voids and obstacles. It does not teleport you or find portals you have not used.
