✨ Overview Lightning Torch makes any torch or lantern you hold cast light exactly like if it were placed on the ground. Perfect for cave exploration, nighttime builds, and everywhere you need immediate illumination without placing blocks.

🛠️ Features

  • Dynamic Lighting
    Held torches and lanterns automatically generate a hidden light source at your feet, matching the glow of a placed torch or lantern.
  • Configurable Brightness
    Use /torchlight <0–15> to adjust the light level of your held source on the fly (default is 14).
  • 3D Lantern Model in Hand
    Held lantern now uses the same 3D model as a placed lantern, including its animated flicker, for a seamless visual match.
  • Dual Compatibility
    Fabric: lightningtorch-2.0-Fabric.jar (in com.lightningtorch) handles dynamic lighting for torches and lanterns.
    Forge: lightningtorch-2.0-Forge.jar (in com.lightningtorch.client) registers the /torchlight command and dynamic light logic.
  • Client-Side Only
    No server-side changes required. Lightweight and conflict-free.
  • No Extra Dependencies
    Fabric version: Fabric Loader ≥ 0.16.14 and Fabric API 0.123.0+1.21.5.
    Forge version: Forge 55.0.21 (1.21.5-55.0.21).

▶️ Usage

Installation (Fabric)

  1. Install Fabric Loader and Fabric API for Minecraft 1.21.5.

  2. Place lightningtorch-2.0-Fabric.jar into your mods/ folder.

  3. Launch Minecraft with the Fabric profile.

Installation (Forge)

  1. Install Forge 1.21.5-55.0.21.

  2. Place lightningtorch-2.0-Forge.jar into your mods/ folder.

  3. Launch Minecraft with the Forge profile.

How to Use

  1. Enter any single-player world or join any server (no server mod required).

  2. Hold a torch or a lantern in your hand, and it will glow just like it’s placed on the ground.

💡 Commands

  • /torchlight
    Displays your current torch/lantern light level (0–15).
  • /torchlight <level>
    Sets the held-torch or held-lantern light level to the specified value:

     

     

    /torchlight 10  → Now your held torch or lantern shines at level 10

Move the JAR into your Minecraft mods/ directory.
