What's new

0.1.0 (first public release)

Minecraft 1.21.1 · NeoForge 21.1+ · Requires GeckoLib 4.9+ · Jade support optional

Pottery

  • Potter's Wheel: turn clay balls into unfired pots. 16 shapes in 3 sizes (small, medium, large): Flower Pot, Long Tom, Azalea Pot, Urn, Hourglass Pot, Planter, and creature pots (Creeper, Sheep, Turtle, Frog, Snail, Hedgehog, Owl, Cat, Dog, Potling).
  • Kiln (two blocks tall): fires unfired pots into terracotta, and fires painted pots a second time to glaze them.
  • Potter's Bench:
    • Painting tab with a full-screen 3D paint editor: brush sizes, bucket fill, color picker, line, rectangle, ring, stamps, mirror mode, flat (unfolded) view, glazed preview, undo/redo, copy/paste.
    • Potting tab: fill pots with dirt, grass, moss and other soils, or empty them again.
    • Hanging tab: tie chain, string or rope cords on so a pot hangs from the ceiling.
  • Wheels and kilns come in 28 materials each (mud brick, brick, and the stone, deepslate, tuff, blackstone and sandstone families).
  • The vanilla Flower Pot is now the "Small Flower Pot" and works with the wheel, kiln and bench.

Houseplants

  • 20 houseplants grown from cuttings: Pothos, Monstera, Snake Plant, Fiddle-leaf Fig, Bird of Paradise, Boston Fern, Cactus, Spider Plant, String of Pearls, Peace Lily, Parlor Palm, Succulent, Norfolk Island Pine, Rubber Plant, String of Hearts, Moth Orchid, Maidenhair Fern, Calathea, Tradescantia and Venus Flytrap.
  • Plants grow one stage per watering, up to the limit of their pot. Bigger pots grow bigger plants, some up to 3 blocks tall. They need light level 9 or more.
  • Plants never die. Left dry for a while, their leaves slowly turn yellow, and they green up again once watered.
  • Trailing vines, hanging fronds and strands drape around the pot, over table edges and under hanging pots.
  • Shears take a cutting from a healthy plant. Bone meal can push a plant up a stage.
  • Bouquets: put up to 3, 6 or 12 small flowers in a soil-filled small, medium or large pot.
  • Watering Can: weathered copper, holds 10 waterings, fills from water, cauldrons or a bucket, and can be placed as decoration.
  • Faucet: a working tap for filling watering cans.

Finding plants

  • Every plant grows wild in its own biomes and drops its cutting when broken. Modded biomes that use the common c: biome tags (Biomes O' Plenty, Terralith, Regions Unexplored and others) get them too.
  • A small chance of cuttings from grass, ferns, jungle leaves and cactus in the right biome.
  • The wandering trader sells cuttings.

Gardener villager

  • New profession whose workstation is the Potter's Bench. Sells cuttings, pots, the Watering Can, the Faucet, Planter Boxes and the Potter's Wheel; buys clay, bone meal, moss and flower pots.
  • Gardener houses spawn in villages in five styles (plains, desert, savanna, snowy, taiga), including villages from other mods that use vanilla village jigsaws. Each has a chest with two books: A Gardener's Notes and The Legend of the Potling.

Furniture

  • Planter Boxes in all 11 woods. They join into long beds, grow plants like a large pot and are filled with soil where they stand.
  • Plant Stands, which join into tables, with a low shelf that holds items.
  • Wall Shelves, which join side by side and turn corners.
  • Plant Shelves, open cubby shelves.

The Potling

  • A small living flower pot mob, animated with GeckoLib. Awaken one by throwing a Splash Potion of Healing at a placed Perfect Potling Pot.
  • Give it soil and a flower or cutting to wear. It cheers when patted, naps, sleeps at night (on a plant stand or shelf if it can find one) and dances to jukeboxes.
  • Hand it your Watering Can and it waters nearby houseplants for you. It climbs onto pots, uses a pop-up stepladder for tall and hanging pots, and refills at faucets or open water.

Mod support

  • Jade: looking at a pot shows the plant, its growth stage, the days since watering and when it grows next.
  • Creative tab sections via Fancy Tab Sections (bundled, no separate install).

Config

  • Common config: how long a watering lasts, growth speed, bone meal chance, maximum hanging cord length, and Gardener house spawn weight (0 turns them off).
