What changed

• Taiga now fades out in coherent patches at the subpolar-to-polar transition instead of ending along a hard line. The polar tree line remains intact.
• Storm warnings now say whether the storm is to the east or west.
• Latitude avoids repeated custom-biome diagnostic scans during chunk decoration, reducing avoidable work while exploring new terrain.

Existing chunks keep their current biomes; the terrain change applies to newly generated chunks.
