You can die three times but if it happens the fourth time it's the same as in hardcore mode.
Description
You can die three times but if you die the fourth time you enter spectator mode and drop a Heart.
If you left-click it and the Gamerule plusLife (usually it is true) is true than you become one Life back.
But if you die in creative mode you go into survival mode,
but you can change that in the game rules ( /gamerule creativeDead false ).
You can set how many lives you have by entering the game rule setLifs ( / gamerule setLifs [custom amount] ) and the command updatelifs ( /updatelifs )
