VERITY UPDATE

the big one: they talk to each other now

- kai and speed hold conversations between themselves instead of only
  answering you. say something to one of them with the other standing there
  and they pick it up and run with it while you listen. nothing they say to
  each other is aimed at you.
- characters from OTHER MODS get pulled in too. when one of them speaks near
  you, kai and speed answer him. verity works out of the box - say hi to
  verity and the three of them get going.
  you do not need any special or modified version of verity. la peace does
  not touch verity's files and does not require verity to be installed at
  all. it listens for the name in chat, nothing more.
- it only happens when you tell them to. say "kai talk to speed", "verity
  talk to kai" or just "talk to each other" and they get going. they never
  start on their own, and asking one of them an ordinary question is still
  just a question. it is written to be funny, and it is one exchange rather
  than a whole scene.
- three settings in the config under conversation:
    crossTalkEnabled    turn it off
    crossTalkChance     how often, 1.0 by default
    crossTalkOutsiders  which other mods' characters they answer

fixed since 1.44

- the entry screen could lock you out for good. with entryCountdownSeconds
  set to 0 you could subscribe, sit through the whole wait, and the way in
  stayed greyed out - and esc is off on that screen, so the only way out was
  closing the game.
- subtitles were spoiling the jumpscares. with subtitles on, minecraft drew
  "!!!" and "LA PEACE!!!" with an arrow pointing at him before you turned
  round. every scare was announced in advance. those captions are gone.
- an ai request that timed out a fraction under its limit was sent a second
  time, so instead of waiting 12 seconds for "he did not answer" you waited
  24.
- with proxy set to vpn, starting minecraft before your vpn meant the mod
  checked the ports once, found nothing and never looked again. it now picks
  the tunnel up on its own within 30 seconds.
- "type /lapeace aitest to see why" was shown to everyone, but on a server
  that command is owner and ops only, so for a normal player it answered
  "unknown or incomplete command". they get told who to ask instead.
- asking speed something while the ai was down answered with nothing at all.
  no line, no error. he now says the same thing kai does.

needs the ai set up, same as before. cross-talk costs one request per line,
so turn crossTalkChance down if you are on a tight free allowance.
