What's new
# v1.0.1: The Culling Games
The biggest update yet: a whole new endgame, a living world with three sides at war, special grade cursed tools, a
pile of new characters and techniques, and a lot of polish on what was already there.
---
## New
### The Culling Games
- Reach **Grade 1** and you're entered into the Culling Games. A new tab in the J menu has the **leaderboard**, the
**rules** and a **map** of roughly where everyone is.
- Players in the games **drop all their XP when they die**, and XP orbs can't be destroyed. You can hand XP to friends.
- Getting out of the games costs Grade 1+ player kills and 100 levels.
- **The Star Plasma Vessel:** every few days Riko appears with special grade guards. Catch her for a big XP prize
before she disappears.
- **Factions:** team up with friends. Your faction's techniques, domains and summons can't hurt each other.
- **Outbreaks:** once 3 or more players are in the games, a giant cursed spirit breaks out somewhere far away. Walk into
its area and a veil drops over the fight. There are 12 new huge bosses, from Teke Teke and the Rat King up to
Yamata-no-Orochi and Gaki-O. Their loot (XP, gear and maybe a finger) is shared out by how much damage each person did.
### Three sides at war
- **Sorcerers hunt curses and curse users, curse users hunt sorcerers, and curses attack everyone.** Anyone who gets
hit fights back. Toji, Uraume, Charles and Daido stay outliers.
- **Curse Users:** new anonymous anti-sorcerers in six looks, including Geto's monks, members of Q, a hired hitman and
a tattooed street curse user.
- **Every character now spawns in the world somewhere that fits them.**
- Sorcerers turn up around villages by day.
- Curse users roam dark forests, swamps and badlands.
- Toji very rarely wanders the open land.
- Sukuna still only comes from feeding Yuji fingers.
- **Mimics in disguise:** a rare villager, cow, pig, sheep or chicken is really a curse. It looks exactly like the real
thing until you get close.
### New characters
- **Playable techniques and NPCs:** Hakari, Yuki, Hana, Mechamaru, Ryu, Mai and Haruta.
- **NPC-only fighters:** Reggie Star, Takaba (good luck getting rid of him), Charles, Daido, Uro and Kirara.
- **Post-Shibuya Maki**, who fights like Toji.
- A pre-Shibuya Dagon and a half-transfigured Cursed Trader.
- Smallpox Deity is now a cursed spirit.
### New techniques
- **Idle Death Gamble** (Hakari): rough energy, flat train Shutter Doors that slam shut on your target's legs, and a
domain with a jackpot.
- **Star Rage** (Yuki), **Jacob's Ladder** (Hana), **Puppet Manipulation** (Mechamaru), **Granite Blast** (Ryu),
**Construction** (Mai) and **Miracles** (Haruta).
- **Hollow Wicker Basket:** at Grade 1, crouch inside someone else's domain to weave a basket the sure-hit can't reach.
- **Innate traits:** small random perks, shown in the J menu.
### Special grade cursed tools
- **Playful Cloud, Split Soul Katana, Chain of a Thousand Miles, Dragon-Bone, Yuta's katana, Nanami's blade, Haruta's
sword** and the **Inverted Spear of Heaven**. Each has its own 3D model, Better Combat moves and canon power:
- the spear cuts through Infinity and severs techniques
- the chain drags enemies in
- Dragon-Bone pays back the damage you take
- and so on
- They hit much harder against anything with cursed energy. Their owners carry them and never drop them, and finding
one as loot is very rare.
- They can only be kept in your hotbar, your off hand or an Inventory Curse.
- **Inventory Curse:** wear it (it works with Curios too) for 9 extra slots beside your inventory. If you die, it drops
with everything still inside. Drop it on purpose and it becomes a curse that follows you around like a pet.
### A bigger world
- **Seven new structures:**
- the Zen'in Estate
- Geto's temple
- Mahito's sewer hideout
- the Eishu Detention Center
- a curse-user den
- Q's hideout
- an auxiliary manager's field post
- **The Tokyo Outskirts:** a new biome with big trees, garden ponds and lots of sorcerers.
- **The Night Parade of a Hundred Demons:** drink a Bottle of Cursed Spirits, walk into a village and defend it from
waves of curses and a special grade leader.
- **Finger box shrines** that hide Sukuna's fingers, and every player's Window's Report now leads to a different finger.
### The cast comes alive
- **Speech bubbles** with lines from the series above the cast (and over other players for their big moves), plus
reactions to domains, kills and rivals.
- **Talking faces** with signature expressions, like Naoya's sneer.
- **NPCs act out every technique** the way players do, walk more naturally, toy with you when they're cocky, counter
your techniques and use Reverse Cursed Technique.
- **Cinematic charge-ups:** Hollow Purple gathers Blue and Red in each hand and smashes them together, and Fuga draws
back like a bow.
- **Projection Sorcery** leaves blue afterimages.
### Extras
- Lore outfits: Yuji's hoodie and jacket, and Yuta's coat.
- Lots of new (hard) advancements and statistics.
- A config whitelist and blacklist for which techniques fingers can give.

## 🔧 Changed and upgraded
- **Shibuya** was a single ruined block. It's now a huge, rare ruined city with 60–120 block skyscrapers, a subway
underneath, falling ash, and all three sides fighting in it.
- **Dojos** are much bigger, with three different layouts.
- **Limitless:**
- Blue, Red and Purple are now real spheres that visibly form before they fly.
- Red pushes things away, and Max Blue follows your crosshair.
- **Infinity** now has its own meter that drains with every hit it stops, and breaks for a moment when it empties.
- Nothing can walk into or push a Limitless user while Infinity holds.
- Infinity now stops cursed-energy projectiles.
- **Domains:**
- much more cinematic openings, moving walls and glowing occupants
- they stay open far longer (2 minutes for players, up from 30 seconds)
- closing yours within 5 seconds halves the cooldown and dazes everyone inside
- Infinity inside a domain is no longer ignored, it just wears down faster
- NPCs only open theirs as a last resort
- Unlimited Void opens with a rush through hyperspace
- Malevolent Shrine has three deletion rings
- Dagon's domain is redone
- **Black Flash** now builds up as a chance and resets when it lands. Your hand fire turns black and red when it's
ready.
- **Curse Manipulation:** capture curses fishing-style into orbs you eat, plus a better Swarm Release and Recall.
- **The Prison Realm** is reworked, and being sealed is announced to the server.
- **Copy** now takes one random move from your target for a single use.
- **Ten Shadows:** you hang from Nue's talons when flying.
- **Freeze Frame** flattens its victim into a pane of glass.
- **Show of Force** lasts until you turn it off.
- **Veils** only let sorcerers through, and explosions stay inside.
- **Enchanted weapons** now give off small flames in each enchantment's colour.
- **Title cards** unroll as a scroll.
- **Distant fights** sound far away.
- **Explosions** send out a shockwave ring.
- **Redesigned models** for much of the cast, and new spawn eggs showing each character's face.
- **Chest mimics** use the real chest texture.
- **Curses** drop a quarter less XP.
## 🗑️ Removed
- **The Sorcerer/Curse choice** at the start.
- **The enchantments that copied cursed tools** (Nullify, Soul Split, Dragon Bone, Thousand Miles), plus the weak
Siphon and Overwhelm. Their powers now live in the real cursed tools.
- **Domain nausea and blindness**, the technique camera zoom, the heartbeat near strong curses, the dev wands, and the
chat spam when eating a finger.
## 🐛 Fixes
- Stuns no longer stop you attacking or breaking and placing blocks.
- Innate traits are kept when you awaken.
- Ranged NPCs still fight up close.
- Sand and gravel fall normally.
- Nue can't carry you through blocks.
- Structure chests no longer roll their loot before anyone opens them.
- Hairpin detonates nails stuck in the ground.
- Several stuck animations are fixed.
