Change Logs

• Added Nickname System (/nickname & /nick):

  • Commands: Introduced /nickname command with /nick alias, as well as subcommands under /jakesessentials general nickname and /jakesessentials general nick.
  • Syntax: /nickname {custom Name} {optional Player / self} (e.g., /nick &a[VIP] &bBob or /nick &cShadow Steve).
  • Reset / Clear: Setting custom name to off, clear, or reset removes the custom nickname.
  • Permissions:
    • jakesessentials.nickname: Permission to change own nickname (granted to all players by default).
    • jakesessentials.nickname.others: Permission to change nicknames for other online or offline players (admin permission by default).
  • Color Code Support: Supports formatting and color codes using & (e.g., &a, &b, &c, &l, etc.).
  • Hover IGN & Click to Copy: Hovering over a player's nickname in chat displays their real username (IGN: <username>) and clicking on the nickname copies their real IGN to the clipboard.
  • Tab List & Name Format: Updates in-game chat display names as well as the player TAB list.
  • Help Integration: Registered under /jakesessentials help for player and staff reference.

• Built-in Chat & Prefix Formatting System:

  • Customizable Chat Format: Fully configurable chat message template in jakesessentials-common.toml (chatFormat = "{Time}{Prefix}{Name}{Suffix}: {Message}").
  • Placeholders:
    • {Time}: Current server timestamp (configurable pattern via timestampFormat, default "[HH:mm:ss] ").
    • {Prefix}: Automatic parsing of prefix.<weight>.<prefix_value> permission nodes (e.g., prefix.1."&2Test" or prefix.100.&c[Admin] ), with quote stripping and weight priority evaluation.
    • {Name}: Player name, dynamically using formatted nickname with hover IGN display if set.
    • {Suffix}: Automatic parsing of suffix.<weight>.<suffix_value> permission nodes.
    • {Message}: Chat message text.
  • In-Chat Color Permissions (jakesessentials.chat.color): Players with jakesessentials.chat.color permission can use & color codes inside their chat messages.
  • Modular System Toggles:
    • chatFormatDisabled: Set to true to completely disable JakesEssentials chat formatting system and allow third-party chat mods to handle formatting.
    • nicknameDisabled: Set to true to completely disable /nickname commands and nickname functionality on the server.
