Description
Hydrogen - A new Performance Mod!
Hydrogen is a new performance mod designed to improve your framerate and reduce CPU usage by the game.
HYDROGEN IS EXPERIMENTAL! YOU MAY SEE ISSUES, BUGS, INSTABILITY, ETC. EXPERIMENTAL BUILDS MAY ALSO HAVE WORSE PERFORMANCE!
Features of Hydrogen
- Mob AI Culling: Mobs and entities outside of the player's render distance have their tick updates skipped entirely on singleplayer, or reduced on multiplayer.
- Entity Culling: Mobs and entities outside of the render distance of the player are prevented from moving, or reduced movement.
- TileEntity Culling: Chests, furnaces, redstone systems, etc are slowed down or disabled to improve FPS. Please note that this will effect how many redstone contraptions work! * We plan to add a config to disable it later.
- Particle Culling: Particles that are rendered far away are stopped to improve FPS and performance.
- Chunk Engine: Chunk updates such as placing blocks are slowed down for chunks outside of the render distance to improve FPS.
- Hydrogen Light: Limits calculations of light for unloaded chunks to prevent lag.
Performance Improvements
We've tested Hydrogen in a singleplayer world (Default settings, 16 chunks, 5x5 Biome Blend, 12 Sim Distance, Smooth Lighting ON, VSync OFF, Performance: Unlocked - Unlimited)
Fabric 1.21.11 with Hydrogen: avg 375 FPS (M1 MacBook Air) Vanilla 1.21.11 with NO MODS: avg 320 FPS (M1 MacBook Air)
- FPS improvements of over 50 FPS compared to vanilla Fabric with ZERO mods! (FPS Improvements get better with each update)
- Significant reduction in CPU usage when many mobs, entities, and TileEntities are loaded
- Smoother gameplay in crowded areas, large bases, and redstone contraptions
Hydrogen is lightweight, designed for only improving performance. Hydrogen ensures your game stays smooth, and playable at higher framerates.
- Please NOTE! FPS improvements may vary depending on location in the game, system specs, and more.
- Please NOTE! FPS improvements may seem minimal right now, but with each update, they get better.
